Tour manager was a nice person - Ryan was only interested in talking to particular people and only went out of his way to help them. when asked for good places to eat or visit - was next to no help. BUT took the people he like to amazing places. he kept saying it was one of his last tours and it was very obvious as he was only interested in getting drunk every night- then hungover the next day. very disappointed in some accommodation. - would have traveled with a different bag (not suitcase) and brought more stuff for staying in camp sites ie. big spray, sheets.(would have like to be told before the trip)

When it would say 2 days somewhere, in reality we had 1 and 2 nights. Arriving late and leaving early shouldn’t count as a day. But overall was an amazing experience full of shared memories, with many new people to go on this 18 day adventure, of pure constant sightseeing and things to do during the day. And the night to get absolutely blind just to wake up 3 hours later to start it all over again.

The add ons gave you some amazing experiences in some really rad countries but a heads up about the prices would have been nice! There were lots of things I wanted to do which ended up costing me around half of the spending money I bought with me, worth it but extra information before the trip would have been good

I thought the trip was great overall, but it could have been a bit better. I booked the trip last minute and was told that the group I would be traveling with is at capacity (50-60) people. Contiki told me I need to wait 3 to 4 business days for final approval. I reality the group was 32 people. So that was a bit strange. But back to reviewing the trip, the hostels actually were not that bad as described by others, the food was very basic everywhere (including the add-on dinners). I had visited 3 cities in Italy and I not even once had a delicious meal (partly maybe my fault for choosing the wrong places on my own). But food and accommodations are secondary, what is really important is the destinations and people. There were moments where in a boring city we would spend a large amount of time doing nothing and then in the cool cities, we would have a lot less time and would be rushed to get back on the bus. And its not just me, but my entire group agreed with me. Example, Venice does not need 2 days, you can see the entire thing in half a day. Florence on the other hand has lots of potential, but we were there only half a day. It would be nice if Contiki prioritized destinations a little better. Also, majority of nightlife destinations just included Contiki members. The entire point of traveling is to experience the local vibe and culture, meaning mingling with the locals, so I think this topic can be improved. And finally, it would be great if there were more games or sport activities which would allow Contiki groups to engage more amongst groups and amongst themselves. Partying is great, but everyday for 20 days, I don't know, hahaha, maybe sometimes it would be nice to switch it up :). Oh yea, and the Contiki tour guide was great and very knowledgeable guy, but I had trouble understanding his Australian accent sometimes, hahaha... At destinations some tour guides were great (Florence) and some were horrible (Colloseum, Rome). If Contiki could hand pick the good ones, that would really enhance the experience.

Traveled Aug 2018
The trip was very fast-paced, although that's to be expected. We saw a huge number of amazing things. Some add-ons are very much worth the money (such as Mike's Bike tour, Berlin walking tour, white water rafting), some were a bit of a disappointment (gondola ride and the tour in Venice) or just not really worth what you're paying for it (Amsterdam dinner). Our tour manager said that the mountain bike ride in Austria is not very hard - that was false - one of the toughest workouts I've ever had. It was nice that a couple of city tours were included. The included dinners were decent. Breakfasts were very average at most places - cereal and toast (although very good at Amsterdam and Paris). Was still good to have them though. I also felt that the majority of the people were on the trip to get drunk anywhere they could as oppose to explore the places we came to.
