DAY 1

Hawkshead
Welcome to YHA Hawkshead! Our atmospheric grade II listed accommodation is a perfect rural escape in Beatrix Potter country. With comfortable rooms, an on-site licensed bar and easy access to the southern fells and Lake Windermere, you’ll have everything you need on hand to make the most of your stay in the Lake District. Expect tranquil views, great beer and plenty of Regency charm.
After we check in, our trusted Trip Manager will give us an orientation of Hawkshead, taking us through all the main attractions. This picturesque village will captivate you with its cute selection of tea rooms and pubs, cobblestone streets with charming whitewashed houses & lots of little courtyards and squares. Cars are completely banned from the village, giving us complete freedom to wander around and admire all the 17th century buildings and take in the Cumbrian culture. We’ll end our first day with a delicious included dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 2

Graythwaite Estate
We won’t waste too much time lazing around this morning, as we’ve got a full day ahead of us. We’ll grab some breakfast then whisk ourselves off for a fully guided Fell Hike, followed by lots of exciting outdoor activities on 5000 acres of private land at Graythwaite Estate. Here you can try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, brush up on your bushcraft survival skills, and enjoy a private lesson in archery and axe-throwing. We’ll throw in a well-deserved coffee, tea, and s’mores break in between.
Hawkshead
This evening we’ll return to our accommodation, just in time for another lovely dinner at one of the local pubs.
DAY 3

Hawkshead
Rise and shine, another exciting day awaits! After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you’ve got a free morning to explore the village or go on a hike of your choice (we recommend trying the Old Man of Coniston Hike).
Lake Windermere
This afternoon we’ll depart for a guided fell walk on the shores of Lake Windermere and a chance to soak up all the beautiful scenery. If you’re feeling adventurous, have a go at one of the various water sports available here, like kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, or wake surfing.
Bowness on Windermere
Don’t want to return to the accommodation just yet? Our thoughts exactly. Join us on a guided hike to Far Sawrey and a return ferry ride crossing to Bowness on Windermere, for a spectacular end to this one-of-a-kind trip.
