DAY 1 - London to Munich
London
This is going be a week to remember. The Vibes will be at an all time high as we join forces in London and get ready to hit the road; our Oktoberfest extravaganza kicks off NOW!
NO REGRETS INCLUSIONS
See the White Cliffs of Dover
Dover
You didn't think this trip would be ALL about the beer halls and pickled ham, did you? Gosh no. We have to cram in a bit of sightseeing on the side. First spotting: the White Cliffs of Dover in all their chalky brilliance.
Munich
Stay
Haus International (or similar)
DAY 2 - Munich
Munich
After crossing pretty French terrain, we find ourselves in Germany - feel free to let out a team scream as we pull up at the Bavarian capital of Munich. Get comfortable in our new digs, and use the remainder of this day to catch up on rest or start joining the festivities, depending on your level of determination to make every minute count. But first, an orientation of the city, and your chance to pick up a dirndl or lederhosen for those keen to dress like the locals. Here are some facts to get you in the know: There are 14 main tents, the biggest holding 11,000 party people, so get your checklist as you make your way through as many as you can. It's been said that each year over 7.5 million litres of beer are guzzled, 500,000 roast chickens are eaten, and approximately 50,000 pork knuckles are consumed. So help those statistics and get eating!
NO REGRETS INCLUSIONS
Locally guided walking tour of the city
See the Glockenspiel & Marienplatz
Stay
Haus International (or similar)
DAYS 3-5 - Munich
Munich

This is your chance to experience first hand the famous antics of a 200 year old beer fest. Over the next few days hop between festival tents and amusement rides & sample the many beers that make this such a loved affair. Take advantage of the additional activities up for grabs to mix things up and ensure you see the full picture of the city. You can get a fix on the ins and outs of the city with an optional bike tour of the city to get all new views (and take a break from the beer tents).

They say that the more you learn about the past, the better prepared you are for the future, and with this in mind we include a trip to Dachau concentration camp, to pay tribute to the victims of some horrific acts that took place so many years ago.

DAY 6 - Munich to London
Munich
Well, wasn't that the most wildly wonderful week of your life? Culture meets sightseeing meets running amok; all of our favourite things rolled into one. Time to pack the bags and spend some time recovering on the ride back to London.
London
Oh, how we've bonded! Say your sad goodbyes and hug it out before we leave the comfort of our crew. Anyone for St Patrick's Day in Ireland?

Loved it, hostel was amazing and clean, didn’t really get much use of the buses as they didn’t go at very good times so I pretty much only paid for the accomodation but tour managers were amazing and so helpful! Definatly would do again

This is my third Contiki and the only one I wouldn't ever purchase again. I'm not sure what our money went to, because our hostel was absolutely disgusting. It was far and had six or eight people shoved into tiny little rooms that smelled and were germy and overcrowded. The included "breakfast" only provided things like cheese, bread, whole milk, and two kinds of cereal - nothing else. We were never given reserved tables at Oktoberfest, free drinks, even access to healthier food for breakfast or even just water. The bus shuttled us a few times a day and we were so far from the hostel that paying for Ubers/cabs was a necessity if you didn't come on the times, which left early. There was also no time to really meet our other Contiki members. For the price of what we paid for, I'm not sure what it covered considering we could've stayed somewhere else cleaner and nicer for the exact same price. Really disappointed with this one, and I hope it changes.

The staff, the group size, the organisation, the whole Oktoberfest experience, 5 stars. To noones fault, the hostel was a bit difficult, having only three power points per room of six and showers that I can not use words to describe.

Eh
If you used to enjoy school camp and having teachers that have no fun, they want to give you a bed time and food that will at the very least will make you loose your appetite, then this is the contiki for you!!!

Arrived at the camp with people that weren’t on he bus. Straight away excluded from the group and got told to wait at the campgrounds reception far away and wasn’t included in the first breakfast which I’m sure would of been a nicer way to treat us. First night we aren’t allowed to have music playing in the main tent of the camp and pretty much felt like it was a school camp and wasn’t allowed to have fun. The staff were not keen on any means of fun with the contiki group. Second day no tables were pre booked for us and struggled to get seats with people from the group and was all split up. Final night the staff were fun police again and we were getting told off for being to loud and drunk whilst camps around us from other parties were having a great time. 10pm comes along we are shut out of the camps tent and told to go elsewhere whilst the staff members stayed up and drank/listened to music by themselves. By all means this is the worst contki you could possibly do when it comes to comfort and HAVING FUN!

Had a great time on this trip. The trip managers that took us to the festival seemed to have no information about what was going on once they arrived. They should have the schedule for the weekend when they pick up the group so we can all plan our stay. The bus drivers were great! They took us back without the trip managers and they did an awesome job. The breakfast was good and the camping facilities were better then expected.

I’ve done contiki before and this contiki was disappointing as a solo traveller I was expecting to meet a lot more people than I did, I basically was with the girls in my room the whole festival as contiki do not organise a time where everyone gets to meet each other. Over the 5 days I used the shuttle bus once. Most days there was only one shuttle to get to the festival and the shuttles to get back to the hostel were quite early, so I managed to spend more money trying to get back to the hostel at night. Contikifest was awesome but it should have been done on the first day so everyone got to meet each other. Overall Oktoberfest was amazing and I had the most brilliant time, but I was a little disappointed with what I expected from the contiki.

So good, however we had to buy dresses out there which were around €90 each, which would have been better to have been prewarned about this, however everything else was lovely

I wouldn’t do camping ever again with contiki. The beds were ****. It’s like a swimming lillo. My partner is 6ft 3 and the ‘bed’ ended just bellow his knees. They were so narrow and uncomfortable. Splash out a little more contiki for the amount we paid you can afford better beds. The food was ok. You need a new urn cause the one they had was ****. Location was ok transport was good. Maybe need a few more trips in and out of the rest though.

Same as above. I loved contiki, but this trip didn't get 5 stars because in my mind excellent/5 stars would have included a table for at least one meal for contiki members. But that didn't happen, despite claims that there were tables reserved for us.

The hostel was clean and comfortable. The service on behalf of the Contiki personnel was lacking. Never once did they reach to me to see if I was okay after not meeting me at check in. Extremely disappointed.

I had lots of of fun on this contiki and met a ton of amazing people. Hostel was nice and clean and the bus was always on time to take us to festival. The only bad review I have is that our tour director lied to us about having a reserved table for all of contiki. We arrived to the festival on the busiest day (Saturday) to find out that basically all tables were already taken and we didn’t have one.
