“Don’t count the days, make the days count” – Muhammad Ali
Global Meet-Up 2016 is almost here, and I’m looking forward to welcoming you all to Budapest on the 24th August. In the spirit of the upcoming Olympics, this year’s conference theme is “Train Hard Fight Easy”, taking the mentality of the iconic sports stars from across the decades who train and work hard to ensure they are well prepared for every challenge that lies ahead.
As part of our busy agenda we have 2 afternoons of sales training planned on the 25th and 26th August. These sessions will form a key part of this year’s Global Meet-Up.
As a team it’s no secret to acknowledge that this year has been a difficult one. The horrendous terrorist attacks across the globe, some in our key operating markets, have made the world and potential travellers cautious and this has had an impact within the travel industry and on Contiki. But whilst it’s easy to feel despondent, this is not the solution. We have the most talented, most dedicated and most passionate sales team in the industry, and despite the challenges faced you have worked incredibly hard to drive sales and keep momentum moving forward. Meet-Up is our time to celebrate and recognise some of the individuals and teams who have had great success over the past 12 months.
Global Meet-Up 2016 will be focused on getting us all in the best possible shape as we prepare for the 12 months that lie ahead. The fight for market share is going to be tougher than ever, which means we have to be well trained, well prepared and acting at the top of our game as we fight for every booking. The sales training sessions at Global Meet-Up will allow us to practice and perfect our key CSP skills, our messaging, presentation skills and share best practice. One things for sure – it promises to be a High Energy 2 days of training.
To ensure that you are maximising the benefits of each session, please can I ask that you:
Let’s challenge ourselves and make every single moment of Global Meet-Up count.
I look forward to seeing you all soon,
Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Tyrol, Hopfgarten, Niederau and Munich.

Tonight is the night we celebrate the achievements of 2016 and hear from a special guest speaker, Founder and Chairman of The Travel Corporation, Mr Stanley Tollman.
This is a special opportunity to hear from Mr Tollman as he shares insights into his extraordinary life and remarkable career. As the owner of one of the most successful, privately-owned and family-run travel businesses today he knows the importance of being the best as success doesn't come easy unless you are prepared, expect the unexpected and train for every outcome.
His entrepreneurial passion and drive continues to inspire the vision of The Travel Corporation and embodies the Contiki philosophy.
Get your sporting gear ready! On the 28th August we will spend the day exploring Contiki’s Hopfgarten and finish the day off in Niederau. That evening we'll have a chance to partay. In keeping with the theme we'll all be dressing up, splitting off into teams and competing for the championship. Your only job is to dress up as your favourite sports star and we'll do the rest. There can only be one winning team, so bring it on!
Looking forward to seeing you all at Conference
