hi there
I have just booked my tour for June 11th – a very spontaneous decision! is there anyone that is travelling alone on this tour? This is my first time….im flying from NY to vegas for a night bymyself then the leave Lasvegas with the tour
also…does anyone have any tips for where I should go for my only night in vegas – remember Ill be by myself unless anyone would like to join me!
any advice is very much appreciated – thanks

me and my best mate are looking to head over to europe in july 09.
would anyone suggest a 2-3 week europe trip that covered a bases of 5-10 countries leaving us 1 week to euro-rail our way around.
and also if you are going in the same time-frame what you hitting up?

Hi!
I’m going to be in Australia with a friend for a while over xmas and I wantedto get advice on mobile phones from people who’ve already been there….
realistically my friend and I mobiles to communicate with eachoother when we separate but using our UK ones is gonna be too expensive, same goes for sending texts home. So I was planning on buying a pay as you go simcard to put in my mobile when I get to oz. the only thing is, will my mobile be ok to take an aussie simcard?
I’m on ORANGE in the UK and their phones are locked to all other uk networks as it is so am guessing its pretty unlikely it’ll work in oz, but I just wondered if any of you know for sure either way? Also, I have a vodaphone work mobilee so there’s always the option of taking that.
I’ve rambled so much, I’ll summarise what I wanted to know:
1) do uk orange mobiles take australian simcards ok?
2) do uk vodafone mobiles take australian simcards?
3) have any of you done this?

Thinking about booking something for the summer and I am wondering how the two types of trips compare.
How were the accommodations in Budget? Worth saving the money? It looks like sometimes they aren’t within the big cities – was that a problem?

Ok, so I’m thinking about going on this tour sometime during June/July time. I just had a couple of questions to ask anyone who has been on one of these tours before.
1. How much drinking goes on? Would it be every night? I’m not really a big partyer at all and to be honest I’d be kind of put off if I was the only one who didn’t want to get drunk every second of the day.
2. How much do you reckon the tour cost overall? Like not just the cost of the tour itself, but all the optional stuff and money for shopping etc.

hey just wondering if there’s any people out there moving to the big uk next year. i am, im going alone and would love to meet some other people. im going in may and doing a contiki 4 a month when i get there then in2 a pub job.

I’m going to be living and working near Cairns for four months and was going to fly in at the end of January, but now I’m thinking of catching the Beaches and Reefs tour from Sydney to Cairns in the middle of January first. My questions are:
Does anyone do these tours without bringing friends along? I’m afraid of being such a loner!
Also…since I’m going to be living there I’m going to have like two huge bags of luggage and am not sure what I would do with them, since I’m not moving in until the end of January. Any ideas about what I could do with my luggage?

Im doing a Gallipoli Study tour with my uni from 22-30 of June and im looking at doing the Athen’s to Rome tour on the 2nd of July.
Has anyone else done it or suggest some tours around Turkey that are near the begining of July (preferable the 1st or 2nd)

i havent travelled overseas before and i want to do a contiki trip to europe and want to know which trips would be best if you love going out partying. all the sight seeing stuff would be fabulous of course but for my first trip overseas i want to see the nightlife

Hey all. I am thinking about doing the Berlin to Budapest tour starting july 2nd. I am just curious how the Czech and Hungarian money works. Just wondering how much general things cost… eg cab rides, drinks, general souvenirs … the like.. I’ve never been anywhere that had a “badly” inflated currency so id like to prep myself for how much things are gonna cost.

Hey travellers!
I’m going on the Euro Horizon on August 23 (so soon, so excited!!!) and I want to do the Jungfrau Mountain cog railway optional. In my Contiki package it said that it is to be paid in Swiss Francs. I’ve read on this board that you usually pay for the optionals in cash at the beginning of the tour. Does this mean I should have some Swiss Francs when I go over there, or can it wait until I go to Switzerland, where I can withdraw Francs from an ATM?
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated!

im thinking of doing coast & whitsundays- so it ends in whitsundays and i was wondering whats the best way to get back to sydney from there then as i would be flying back home from sydney.
or if i do the reverse how do i get to whitsunday?
i guess im asking anyone know the cheapest ways?
also how much extra cash would you recommend to bring for food/souviners, i have no idea what the prices are like in australia?

I have read the dress code article for Europe and after reading about 10 or so travel logs, they both conflict with each other.
So I need to know if I should pack a pair of slacks for the trip. Can I get away with jeans in these places? I have a nicer blazer to put on top if need to….
