Hi!
I am coming to australia next week, for a couple of weeks and I want to bring my camera. I wanted to find out though, what voltage is used in Australia. My camera battery charger uses 110v in Trinidad, where I’m from. What would I need to get to get my charger to work in Australia?? What does the plug look like?
Someone pleeeeeaaaaaaaase help me

My fiance and I have finally decided to go with the 18 day European Encounter we are very excited and have booked seats for May 18-2…We will not be doing the first two nights in London because we will be visiting with family and will just go on the tours from Holland all the way to France…But I was wondering what is the weather like in May?? what should I pack and how light should i pack?? I really want to be able to spend some money on souvieners but im worried that my suitcase won’t be big enough with all the clothes…Please help thanx….

We will be staying in Paris for 3 extra nights (Jan 27th – 30th) after our Contiki European Discovery Tour.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to stay in Paris that isn’t too expensive?(Somewhere that has private rooms if possible.)
Also do you think we have to reserve something in advance or could we wait until we arrive in Paris (we get there the evening of Jan 25th)?
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I thought I was settled on a tour, but it isn’t the tour I REALLY want to do. I want to do the European Highlights tour, but because of time restrictions with work, it’s gonna be hard. The issue is I can’t get 3 consecutive weekends off since I’m taking 2 weeks off.
I found one tour date for the EH tour that would work, but I would fly home from Amsterdam, getting in around 2.30 in the afternoon, then have to be at work the next morning at 7:00am and work 7 days before getting another day off. Am I being naive in believing this could be a possibility? Thanks!

This is the first time i’ve done something like this. I’ve paid a deposit for the europe trip, when do i get sent info on the whole trip,like where we leave, times, things to take, etc …..everything!! Just information that is vital and tells me its really happening.

Im doing the scenic southern (clockwise) in December until January and was wondering what the weather will be like then. As i dont have many clothes so im thinking i will need to buy some, but what type? Tshirts? Long shirts? etc etc. And should i take dressy clothes? We will be in Queenstown for New Years, but have no idea what to wear, as i dont usually go out and get dressed up.. Im more of a tomboy lol.

Hi there, I was wondering whether anyone could offer advice on Digital Camera memory cards. Is it better to take a variety of memory cards in case one becomes corrupted? Could anyone recommend a reliable brand of CompactFlash cards? My camera is a Canon Powershot A80. Also, how does it work at airports etc – can the x-ray machines wipe the cards? I’m sorry if these questions seem puerile – I’ve never taken a digital camera abroad (I live in England, United Kingdom) before and have horrible visions of getting back with no photos!! Thank you to anyone who replies.

Has anyone on the S. Ireland trip ever gone to the Aran Islands while in Galway? Is there enough time for this? If you’ve been to the islands, did you think it was worth it?
I really would like to visit here, and this may be the only chance I get (this year, anyway)…but I’m not even sure it’s a possibilty. Please help.

Does Contiki provide you with maps of the cities you’ll be visiting? Either in the initial welcome package or as you go along on your tour? If not, does anyone recommend picking up street maps of the cities beforehand to familiarize yourself with the lay of the land and to have with you while you travel?

hey guys,
im from australia and will be traveling to the US and canada after i have traveled around europe doing the contiki Vista tour.
however i was actually wondering whether someone could tell me about this voltage thing. im hell confused LOL
in australia we have 240 volts and i know that the US and Canada have 120 volts. i know that im going to have to buy conversion plugs so i can charge my camera etc. but how do i find out whether i need to buy an inverter as well?
im thinking about my camera, hair straightener, and ipod.

I haven’t seem the answer to this anywhere else, being Canadian I receive a voucher for a sleeping bag from the Contiki Basement. I was just wondering if these are brand new sleeping bags or if they are used?

Hello all – i’m planning a trip with my best buds and most of the trips don’t have included visits to the Chateau Versailles, so I was thinking I could head there during those free afternoons … just wondering … is it total rocket science to get there from the hotel? Has anyone done it? do the tour managers help you?

I have searched through the site and haven’t found what I am after. I will be going on the Medeterranian Highlights tour 31st August from Madrid and ending in Rome 13th September. I will be catching a train from Rome to Venice but cannot look at booking a ticket as it doesn’t say exactly what time the tour finishes. It just mentions after breakfast. Can someone please provide a little more information as I would hate to miss a train. After Venice I am heading of to Zagreb, Croatia to meet with my father.

Does anybody know whether the Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Georgian Baths tour has to be booked a certain number of days in advance? Can I just book it at the Contiki Basement the day before the tour?
Also, does the tour bus drop you off at the Royal National Hotel after the tour or do you have to make your way back after being dropped off at another location?

I will be graduating from high school in June 2007, and a group of my friends and I wanted to go on a vacation together before parting our ways and heading off to University (most likely in July 2007). After running a few different tours by all of them, we’ve decided that we’d like to go on the Mediterranean Highlights one.
I was just wondering if anyone here has ever been on this tour and if they could share their experience to help my friends and I make our final decision. Also, from anyone’s experience, have there been many 18 year-olds on the trip? Or is everyone usually quite a bit older?
