Im sure this topic had been brought up many times, but I was still a little confused…
I was wondering what were people experiences with cash versus using a card (like Travelex). I was going to get a Travelex card, becuase I didnt want to carry too much cash on me. But can I use it like a VISA card when I go into shops? Or do I have to take out money when I see an ATM? Do many stores accept cards or do they only accept cash? What about bars, are they cash only too?
Sorry for all the questions…Im a virgin when it comes to going to Europe

I just wanted some advice…i’m planning on travelling around the US (north) for 6 months starting in May, i’m a 22 yr old girl and i’ll be on my own…I have a kinda route i want to take so don’t really want to be restricted to a tour but friends have said it might be a good idea to start with a tour to meet people etc…?

any one know of a good new york hostel i finish tour in june and in new york for a week so alittle expensive to spend a week or many nights at the contiki hotel. any hostels u know of that are near the marrakech hotel( contiki hotel)??

Hi all
I suffer from a bit of motion sickness sometimes so was just wondering if the ferry from Dover is a really rough ride and have many people on tours had a bad experience travelling on the buses for long periods. Im packing my ginger motion sickness tablets but im just keen on hearing anyones experiences and tips to avoid motion sickness on what I hope to be an awesome trip of a lifetime!

My boyfriend and I are going on the Magic Tour in May and I just wondered what kinds of amenities the hotels have available. Do they have toiletries such as shampoo in the hotel or should we bring our own? Also, do they have hair dryers or should I pack a travel one? Thanks!!

Hey guys, not sure if this has been discussed already, but didn’t really come up with anything using the search function.
I’ve decide to take a couple of tours alone, since im sick of waiting for friends to ‘save money’ although it wont be till later 2010/ear;y 2011, just trying to sort some things out.
Basically wanted some advice on taking more than one european tour, has anyone done this? simply because they don’t go to all the places i wanted, eg, i want to do the spainish spree, then the 45 day europe one, then also the russia/scandinavia one. would anyone suggest doing this or just stick to one?
Ill also be doing USA and egypt (through topdeck) but probably just before europe.
im a very shy person, so im a bit worried about travelling alone, Although im sure itll be fine from what iv read on here!
also apart from the quoted prices, how much should i expect for spending money per day?

Just wondering is there a way to find out, ahead of time, who the tour manager for your tour date will be?
If so is there a place with TM reviews?
Since reading some of the convos i find getting a good or bad tour manager is luck of the draw.

Just been reading everyones messages and I am both excited and **** scared! How many peeps travel alone? Im worried its gonna be just me and everyone else in couples/groups, does everyone do their own thing or does everyone stick together? (travelling alone for the first time, can you tell?)

I am wondering which Travelodge in Sydney the tour starts from and how is it in terms of location? Is it close to all the sights to see?
What other hotels do you reccommend?

This will probably seem like a silly question but I’m really bad with boats. Everyone I ask about the Ferry Ride from Dover to Calais just says “you’ll be fine” but can anyone give me some accurate useful information on how long the trip really is, what the conditions were like (I’m travelling September) and any other info?

I’ve read that in some places it is not a good idea to have your shoulders exposed, or wear short shorts.. Is it also offensive to have some boob out??

Has anyone done a day trip from the Austrian Tyrol (Hopfgarten) to Salzburg instead of the optional extras? Our tour (European Adventurer) doesn’t go through Salzburg, but I notice they are not far from each other, and assume there will be a train nearby we can catch?
Any advice would be geatly appreciated
