Going on the European Discovery tour during Aug 08. I know its going to be hot hot hot but its the only time that I could plan it.

Anyway there are a few questions I have:

1. Do I need swimsuit

2. I heard many things will be closed because that is when the people from Europe take their vacation. Will I still get to see maine attractions such as vatican city etc…

3. Is there any other suggesstions you could make?

Thanks lol

I haven’t booked anything yet but my friend and I are still in the process of deciding on our trip for ******mas vacation.  Currently am leaning towards the Grand Adventure for Dec 25th to Jan 1st.  Anyone else going or have any advice with regards to that?
Our other options would be Cairns Sunshine Trail (Australia) or else just doing our own thing to Cuba or Hawaii.
Any info/advice would be awesome!
Thanks!

Hey All,
There has been much talk over the last couple of weeks about which shoes to bring on a trip. Now I am very much a sandal person and often wear plain Old Navy flipflops. I have noticed that many people have mentioned Haviana sandals as their choice to bring with them, but my question is what is so great about these sandals compared to Old Navy ones?
Please enlighten me!
Thanks, Megs

Okay so personally, I don’t think I can live without Vegemite for 2 months lol

Does anyone know if we’re allowed to take it over there???

Also like chocolate and stuff…I’ve heard that chocolate in America tastes like crap, so keen on taking some Cadbury with me Smiler

If anyone can offer advice on what we can & can’t take that’d be awesome, cheers

Hi Guys!
The Ultimate European tour offers a Mykonos or Egypt option. I’ve booked myself in for the Egypt option but am now having second throughts. Has anyone out there been to both or either, that may be able to offer some pros and cons about each location. My tour starts in July.
Cheers
Pris

Just two quick questions:

1) When is the best time of year to go on the Southern Adventure? I am thinking of going Nov-Dec.

and

2) Are Heritage Visa debt cards accepted in the US?

Any info would be great.

hey guys and girls,
just wondering if you get an ekit sim card with all your contiki stuff or whether you have to purchase one via the site?

i leave in a week and am picking up my tour documents from my travel agent tomorrow and am starting to get worried about keeping in contact with family.

i have a pre-paid phone through telstra and have had it unlocked so that i can put an international sim card in it.

i took it from reading other peoples comments about the ekit card that you receive one with your documents and then load up on credit.

could someone please give me some more details about this and whether in fact i do need to purchase one online before i go, or as a last resort are sim card easily available for purchase so i can put it in my phone and msg members of my family?

How strict is Contiki for their luggage? They say its only 20 inches…but you cant fit anything in that especially if you have to carry a seeping bag and towel

Also whats the weather like down in Europe…

Its only four weeks til i leave for my overseas trip. I was just hoping that ppl who had been overseas before could give me an idea of things they had to get organised before they left? You know like what to pack, see doctor for whatever and things like that? Confused
I have started writing a list but feel like i am forgetting so many things. And it is starting to stress me out! Eeker If anyone who has been before can throw some suggestions on here or had list of things before they left it would be muchly appreciated!

I was wondering what people’s experiences with the different languages are on the trip. I am leaving for the European Vista tour next week, but I can only speak English. I was wondering if this is going to be a problem for me.

Hey guys, i am planning to do my first contiki tour – the Wild Western that starts June 20. I have a few questions, which i hope can get answered Smiler

I am a little confused on how much spending money i will need to take…i have read on different discussions ranges from between $50-$150?

I was also planning on staying in Anaheim 5 nights before the tour started. Is the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort Area, where people doing a contiki tour usually stay before or after a tour?

And finally, i was hoping to spend a couple of days in New York after the tour had finished. Can someone please shed some light into where would be a good place to stay? I have heard the Hotel Beacon???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

lately i have been thinking about doing a tour in europe with contiki. i am an open minded person but i have read a few things which makes me think maybe conyiki isn’t the right tour for me. i don’t really drink however i love to have fun and i wouldn;t mind occasionally joining the people at the clubs. i’m quite worried that the tour manager will be bad because i’ve heard alot of bad things. of course i know that many peopla have great times but i just don’t want to spend so much money on someting which isn’t fun for me. i’m also quite worried about getting lost or the TM won’t help us with how to get to places. sorry if this question doesn’t actually make any sense i’m not very good at putting whats in my mind into writing.

In Rome, are the lineups for the Coliseum as long as they are for the Vatican museums? Or is it pretty easy to get in?
