Hi. I was just wondering whether anyone has heard of/used a travelsim sim card before when travelling to Europe. I only just came across them on the net and from what I can see, they seem like good value and they work most places.
Any feedback would be brilliant ![]()

I know there are a bunch of phone threads but I haven’t seen these answered anywhere….I have a Verizon phone and understand that it won’t really work in Europe. While I don’t think I’ll need to call home or anything, I like the security of knowing I can get in touch with people if something goes wrong.
First question is, do people on tours often call/text each other if they split off into groups in cities and want to meet back up? Second, am I only unable to make calls, or will basic functions like clock and alarm not work either? Most importantly, are there people out there who have gone on a tour and felt totally fine NOT having a phone? My tour’s only 11 days and I’m not the homesick type, so if I can get away with not renting a phone, I’d like to save the money. You know how it is though — I just never go anywhere without bringing my phone.
All advice/comments welcome….thanks!

Hi, I’m a 27 y.o. female from Moscow, Russia. I used to live in Sydney for several years before. Now I’d like to have my vacation in Oz as I’m to graduate my Uni in Feb.2008. So it’s a present from me to me. And I’m thinking what to take – Oz Explorer or Outback? I’ll be travelling alone. What is more interesting? I’m planning to stay in Sydney (after and before the trip) for several days. I have friends where, but I’ll stay at the hotel (hope at Bondi Junction – my favorite place). I don’t know what to choose – long trip or short trip (but if I choose a short trip, I’ll go to Cairs or Whitesunday anyway for several days for diving, scuba). What do you think – take one long tour or two short tours. Will it be the same cost? Thanks for all replies.

Hi everyone.
I’ve heard that the security at US aiports is really tight (which is understandable) and your not allowed to put locks on your suitcase. Is this true?

HI Guys,
Can anyone help me…I am looking at finalising my booking for Grand Southern USA this week. However i have noticed that there will be 2 buses for this tour due to the demand…how will this effect my tour?
Will it be run as 2 seperate tours…possibly with one being held hearted and not being full..less people less fun. Or will it be run as 1 big tour, just with 2 buses taking us all to the different stops, attraction etc at the same time.
I want this experience to be as fun as possible…
Pleeaasse help!!

I love Sydney , and I love Australia.
In my mind, Sydney is the greatest city in Australia.
So what’s the greatest city in your mind?

Hello,
I was wondering the ages of people going on Reefs/rainforests in December. I have a friend who just got back to said a lot of people were quite young, around 19. I am 25 and just want to make sure other people are my age on the trip!

Hi Guys
I was wondering how the whole thing works with staying at the Royal National the night before and sharing a room with a complete stranger?
Do I just check in normally and am given my own key etc?
I am arriving into london quite late so I will miss the night before meeting and all of that..

Hi everyone, just a question regarding the type of luggage you can bring, still not sure after reading contikipedia..
the bag im bringing is like a backpack with wheels and has a detachable day pack on it. if i keep the daypack attached and the total weight is still within limit can i count that as my one suitcase and then have a handbag on the bus?
Also, bit confused with the metal framed backpacks..i have a ‘caribee fast track’ and i dont know if this is considered one? there is bar at the back of it which may be metal..it keeps the backpack straps all in line etc.
thanks

I’m leaving for Europe in a couple of days. I love the idea that the tour is going to be a fast paced coz I’m a ‘do as much as you can for the time that you’re there kinda gal’. But while reading some of the posts, I get the impression there is a lot of drinking. I’m psyched for the trip but am starting to think that I may stick out because I’m not a drinker. I’m starting to have second thoughts about the trip. Am I wrong?

Hey all. My name is Terry and im from Perth WA and I’m planning on doing the ski tour, and wondering who else is going around the time. I’ll be travelling by myself, but contiki’s always a blast so all should be good. Never tried skiing/snowboarding before, but love the snow. Hope to hear back from anyone going.
