i’m looking at doing the contiki european experience in june 07, however i have just found another tour operator called “budget expeditions” whose prices are alot more competitive. i was wondering if there is anyone out there who may have travelled with this company, or even top deck tours, and what their views on these companys were in comparison to contiki

Hello,
I have booked a beaches and reefs tour for Feb and need some advice on shoes. Are a nice pair of shoes necessary for this tour (are there any places that require nice shoes)? I was originally planning on only taking some hiking sandals, since I will be touring around australia for 5 weeks after my trip is done. I didn’t want to have carry an extra pair of shoes, but I don’t want to miss out on any activities/events due to inappropriate attire. Could I get by with just a pair of hiking sandals?
Any information is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Where have you found the cheapest flights? (I’m flying out of Canada either London, or Toronto). Should I get the flight insurance as well? Is it safest to book through Contiki? Any advice would be great. Thanks! -graemlin::)—>

There are four of us going on the Greek Island Hopping tour from Aug 19th – Sept 1st. Anybody have any advice? How much spending money should be bring? What hotel should we stay at before the trip starts as we arrive 3 days early? Any feedback for what bars to hit up on the islands? How far away are they, etc?

im going on a european tour for 16 days in their summer. what kind of clothes should i pack? i have no idea what to expect with the climate because ive never experienced summer other than the blistering heat in queensland :S

I live in the sunshine state and don’t really own any winter gear.
So what should I pack as I am going in September – very end of Septeber to mid October and just realised it is going to be cold weather. Just a question what the hell should I pack?? Stating the obvious PLEASE.
Also are there any tours anyone recommends never to try. And do you have some days where you can’t do everything that is on offer. Oh and of course how much spending money do you recommend for 3 weeks.
This is my first contiki and going solo so any information or trips I would really appricate them.

Hi,
I am taking the Eurostar back to London after my tour ends. Does anyone have any idea how I can get there? Train, cab, metro???
Any ideas…

I’m doing the LA to the Bay in September and have what might be an odd question.
We’re going to be staying at another hotel in Disneyland Park area before the tour and I was curious if it was possible to leave our luggage at the contiki hotel the night before so we don’t have to get it and ourselves to the contiki hotel for the start of the tour.

I’m happy to get around on my own but after traveling for over 24hours to get to Rome just wondering on the best way to get to Hotel Cicerone from the airport. If it was a country that everybody spoke english i dont think that i would be worried but the last thing i want is to be stuck somewhere in rome with all my luggage. Also i dont want to ripped off just because im a tourist?? Any Ideas??

Hey guys,
I am going to Europe for about 4 weeks in Summer & was only planning to take about 2 jackets but my partner said it gets really cold & I should take more?
Any feedback? Thanks!

Okay, so I know they are different, but price wise they are only about $600 different. The winter option is in timeout accomodation and will be a bit cheaper and shorter at 40 days.
The second option is more expensive, concept and 45 days.
I know they are different in the aspect of one being a more winter themed trip and the other a summer, I am a summer person but also like winter.
My main question is for those who have done the ultimate European, is it too long? How was the ferry over to the Greek Islands.
Also if i do the Ultimate I will most likely miss out on Ireland and Scotland all together, is this foolish?
Any options on the two ideas would be super appreciated!
Thanks ![]()

Hey!
I’m 23 from Canada and I’m going on the European Experience trip in June. I’m travelling solo and I will be arriving in London four days before my trip starts.
Since I don’t want to go sightseeing by myself I was hoping to find and get to know some people so we can sightsee together. I’m arriving in London June 10th and will be departing London to start my Contiki tour on June 14th.
Interested? Let me know.
I am also planning on staying at a hostel during this time, any recommendations?
