Hi, Just wondering if anyone has done the glaciel hike? It says a reasonal level of fitness. How difficult is it? Is it something you would be better off doing some training for?

Hey guys I need your help…Has anyone done skydiving in Surfers Paradise? I’m planning on doing it when I get there and had a few questions about it…Does anyone know if there are any height/weight restrictions? and if you can purchase a video of your skydiving experience?…Does anyone know if there is a website for the company that is used by Contiki for Skydiving?…just trying to prepare myself before I head down there in a month…Thanks guys

when i arrive in the uk i will spend two nights with a family friend who lives just outside of london. now i think what will happen on the day before my tour begins is that i will catch a train to waterloo station and then i’ll take the tube to russell square as this seems like the most efficient means of getting there.
my question is with regards to what happens when someone boards the tube with a large backpack or suitcase? obviously after events of about 2 years ago i’m assuming security must be quite tight downthere. so what would happen if i go down there with my backpack?

Travel Insurance card?
Medicare card?
I figure I can just scan everything and email it to myself, but is there anything else I should copy before I go?

I’m doing the Euro Discovery which means I’ll be on the bus a lot…
If I have a small bag with say a pillow/blanket/cards/magazine can I leave this on the bus?
From what I’ve read some places we stop and do things before we’re dropped off at the hotel…I just didn’t want to have to carry a day bag and then another one full of stuff I don’t really need when off the bus?
Did that make sense? lol

I am going on a trip in about 4 weeks now. When is the best time to convert money? Every time I look, the conversion seems to go down. Is there a good time to do this?

I’ve travel solo on a contiki trip before (European Magic) and there was fair bit of single people so as a solo traveler I didnt feel out of place amongst a bunch of couples. I am again traveling solo and single this year. I’m considering either the Italian Espresso or Simply Italy tours. Simply Italy was actually listed as a suggested couples tour in the brochure. What I’m wondering are there usually more couples then singles/solo travelers on these tours and will I feel left out or feel like a third wheel on these tours?

Which of these trips is more fun in terms of nightlife and partying it up?
I did the Greece island hopping trip last year and it was so good. I was supposed to do the spanish spree this year (mainly because it’s the only contiki trip that includes ibiza) but now I’m thinking I’ll do the greece island hopping trip again.
I’ve had my share of culture and museums/landmarks on previous trips so I’m looking to do trips that are mostly based on the fun factor right now : )

hey was just wondering about what type of carry on luggage is best for the bus
im taking my suitcase and a large hand bag but was wondering if its possible to take a standard carryon bag (exttreamly small suitcase) and have it be left on the bus?
OR
weather i should take a back pack??
just worried about pick pockets and things like that. any response would be helpful

I was wondering if anyone knows if you are able to get tickets from Contiki for various attractions like The Louvre, Colosseum, the vatacin, etc…I have heard the lines are insane and wanted to know b4 hand…
Also when they say you are allowed one piece of hand luggage on the bus do they mean like a tote bag that can stay behind while you are in the city or???
I leave in like 5 days so any help is appreciated…Thx

Just a quickie,
Of a morning, do you have to check out of your hostel like hand in room keys and things like that, or has the TM done this, and you just basically jump on the bus?
Im talking bout a concept tour, so thats hostels and cabins….

Does anyone know of a good place in the Heathrow airport that I could meet up with some of my tour mates? There is a group that comes in 30 minutes before me and another 15 minutes after me and since I am travelling solo, I would like to find a meeting place so we could meet up and go to the hotel together. Any ideas???

Hi all…. I am doing the London-Rome tour in April ’07. We all have to meet at Contiki in London early in the morning and I was going to stay at the Contiki Hotel but it is going to cost me $75 AUS. Just wondering if anyone knew of any cheaper accommodation close to the Contiki hotel, which I can stay in the night before my tour starts. Would prefer some way within walking distance to the COntiki place. thanks….

What is the best way to find accommodation? is it buy searcing on the internet, reading lonely planet books, or simply waiting until you get to your destination and asking then?
I’m trying to find accommodation in Calais, and it’s really hard. the cheapest i found was $80 AUD for a single private room in a hostel. Should i book it so that i know i have somewhere guarenteed? Or should i just wait until Contiki gets back to Calais, and then find somewhere?
I was told that the cheap places don’t advertise on the net cuz they can’t afford it/ as a way to keep costs low…
Has anyone stayed in Calais? Any help would be great really don’t want to be left with no accommodation and have to sleep in a bus shelter!!!

Hi guys…i was looking at the GS itinerary on the contiki website and noticed there is a slight change, if i am not mistaken there has been 2 days added onto the tour as they now stay a night at Cocoa Beach and travel from Miami to Orlando via the Everglades.
I am fully booked for the tour departing on the 26th December. Does this mean we have an extra 2 nights on tour or are we stuck with the original itinerary. (cause i kinda prefer the new one)
Can anyone help me out???

I’m having trouble finding a website to book some internal flights for the uk. I need to fly from london to dublin, then back to heathrow for a connecting flight to edinburgh. Can anyone help me with a web address.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I’m going to Europe soon and need to know if I need a visa.
I am flying from Australia to London then going on the European Discovery then I am flying to Berlin to go on the Berlin to Budepest tour.
That means I am going twice into Germany and Austria.
If anyone has done this and knows I would really appreciate knowing!!!
(I have been to Europe before and flown to Scandinavia and didn’t need one)

What were some “man i’m glad i brought that” items that some of you took with you on your trips? this will be my first trip to Italy and i’m not sure what or how much to pack. I’m going on the Italian Espresso trip in may (9 days). PLEASE HELP!
