Who has done George’s Boat as an optional for Corfu? Was probably my favourite optional activity on my tour. I haven’t come across anyone who hasn’t enjoyed George’s Boat. A fantastic day ![]()

I’m about to embark on my first Contiki trip in a few weeks (Vietnam Highlights). I get in a day earlier and am staying at a different hotel for that night, but I’m just wondering about checking in to the hotel for the trip? My check out is by midday – does anyone know if I would be able to check in to the hotel at the start of my trip before the group meeting that night? Or do I have to wait until after the meeting so I can meet my room mate and stuff? Hope this makes sense!

This may already be answered somewhere but are there any information papers or shots canadians need to have before going on a European tour? Is there anything someone reccomends have with you in terms of identification other than a passport?

Hey there,
Im doing the 22 day camping trip around Europe in April this year. Was just wondering where we get to shower and change generally, and if I’ll ever be near a powerpoint to use a hair straightener? Girly I know but will I see a mirror in 3 weeks?

Hi, I’m traveling with my boyfriend o/s for the first time next year and we were planning on doing the London to Athens tour July 2009. I will be 27 and he will be 32 and he is worried he will be too old for the tour. Whats the average age of the tours?

I’ve decided that i want to go on a trip of Aus beginning with the contiki T & O tour this feb (in reverse) moving on to brisbane, sydney and then melbourne. Just wanted to know what the general ages are of people doing this tour aswell as how much money i should take and which additional extras are worth doing such as hot air balooning etc!
Also what should i take with me on this tour clotheswise (being a 19year old girl i need to learn the concept of streamline packing…taking into consideration i’d need clothes which could also cover me on the gold coast and in syd and melb!Help would b very much appreciated!

Hey, I’m doing the WW in Aug and was just wondering what sorta things to pack…
I know the basics, but kinda want to know in a little more detail. This is what I’m planning
Couple of dresses/long tops with leggings for day/night
Summer dresses for evenings
Cardigan
Hoody
Couple Shorts
Few smart/casual tops
Couple of Bikini’s.
2/3 flip flops
1 smart flat shoes
1 pair trainers
Is that about right? I thought the whole tops and leggings would be comfy and cool for the coach rides and in the big cities, theyre reall fashionable in the UK, what are they like anywhere else?
Also do I need a towel? And is there much oppurtunity to go to the beach/go swimming?
Cheers in advance!!

Thanks Eileen

My sister and I will be doing a Contrasts tour in Aug 07 (very excited) and then plan on staying on in the UK with a Working Holiday Visa.
Is anyone else doing this? I have been reading all the info on Contiki tours which has been great but haven’t come across anything about staying on after the tour is finished.
We are thinking of living and working in London for 3 – 6 months, then travelling around Spain before maybe heading to Scotland to work some more and see the sights up that way.
Has anyone got advice or tips? Is it easy finding work and somewhere to stay? Has anyone done bar work where you live and work at the bar? Any recommendations on good places in the UK to stay on for a while?

Hey gang,
I am interested in doing a 4 week + Euro experience. I am doing my research with hope to leave from Canada in Fall 2011.
I am still on the fence as to whether I want to pick-up and head there without a group/tour and have my own itinerary and work in local pubs for quick cash day to day or do I want to go with an organized group.
If any of you could give me pros and cons to both based on your past experiences I would appreciate it.
Cheers,
Josh.

I was wondering if I should bring my laptop on my trip. It seems like it would be a huge pain. Has anyone brought theirs or has anyone found internet cafes widely available? They have computers for you to use at the cafes right? Someone, please set me straight!

Has anyone done carry-on for their Contiki trip? And has anyone had luggage that was lost when they checked it? I’m going to try to get creative w/ my packing so that I can carry it on the plane and would love some tips! Grazie!

I am going on the european contrasts tour in june, and i just got all my paper work today and iwas reading the accomodation lists and it says that we are camping? But its a concept tour? I thought we were meant to be in cabins or something?
Is it just that the camp sites are the same place as the cabins or do we camp?
Sorry if this is a really stupid question.

Hey guys/girls
I’ve read quite a few times that it is recomended to take a multi-vitamin on your contiki tour to help prevent fatigue/coughs/etc.
I’m just wondering if there is any issues with taking a multi-vitamin in your luggage to another country?
A) you’re taking tablets that could be anything
B) Multi-vitamins contain organic matter..
Has anyone had theirs confiscated or anything?
Thanks people! ![]()

Hey, I’ll be doing the B&R starting in Cairns on July 8. I’m travelling alone so am hoping to meet some cool people on the trip. I leave Chicago and arrive in Cairns July 7. Anyone else going on this? Or if there is already a thread on this trip could someone please point me in that direction? I’m looking forward to this so much!
