Hi guys.
This probably comes under useless info, but
handy for anyone passing through Auckland on
your travels.
From July 1st 2008 passengers will no longer
have to pay the NZD$25 departure fee when
flying out of Auckland Airport.
Instead the charge will be included in your
air tickets, rather than the extra hassle
of paying seperately.
A victory for common sense perhaps.

Im thinking about doing a European Contiki Tour alone for 3-4 weeks early August as all my other friends sadly dont have the funds to travel (or they have already traveled)…
Was wondering if their are any other solo travellers out there planning on going on a similiar tour at a similar time? Would love to hear from you. Also any advice from solo travellers that have done a Contiki tour?

i dont know if this is a really stupid question but would i be able to plug a european adaptor – for a nz appliance into a europe-uk adaptor then put it in the wall…?

Hi,
Need some help on which Visa to apply for. We arre going on the 21 day Camping Tour, staying a total of 6 days in Italy, but entering France 4 times. Should i get a Multipal French Visa or Multipal Italian Visa?

Hi there,
If you have already done The Big Apple Explorer in July, can you advise me about if I’d bether buy tickets for a Broadway show beforehand on the Internet? During the tour in the first day are the group going to buy the tickets? If so, are the lines too long? Would we take the risk to find out that the tickets were sold out? I’d like to watch a musical, as “Chorus Line”, or “Wicked”, for example. For me, the best thing would be to buy the tickets with the group, in order to have companion to go to the same show. I don’t want to get the tickets on the wrong day and missed out on doing it with the group. As I’m going to arrive in New York the day before the tour starts, I’m planning to go to another Broadway show that night, solo. Can I buy the tickets at the theatre, during the afternoon the same day?

soo you know how you can take your memory card out of your camera and print pictures at photo booths (in camera stores or chemists). Well, can you still do that in the us if your memory card is not from the us?

I went to a travel clinic and got all kinds of information on Thailand, Cambodia and Laos (Asian Adventure Tour in Jan. 2010).
All three countries are listed as having high “terrorist threats”. I think this has to do with political unrest.
Anyway, I still plan on going and am excited but also a little nervous…The info from the travel clinic telling of all the dangers there are for tourists in these countries…
Anybody have any safety advice for southeast asia?
I will be traveling with my boyfriend.

My fiance and I are planning on doing the European Explorer for our honeymoon in 2009. He loves “Disney” and is really wants to go to EuroDisney…Is there enough time to go during the time in Paris on the Explorer??

Hi,
I am interested in booking the European Panorama tour for next summer (I just realised that my life would be incomplete without visiting Europe at least once in my life, screw student debt). However, I am vegetarian, and am afraid that my needs might not be accomadated. I eat eggs and dairy products, but no fish, fowl or meat. Do the places that we visit have vegetarian options? Is this something you can ask the tour guide in advance?
Also, as much as I want to go to Europe, I’m nervous to go alone. Do a lot of people travel alone? How do we choose who we room with? When we do certain activities, do we go as a group, or do people tend to wander alone?

ive noticed they have taken it off the website now?
does that mean contiki have cancelled all these tours or can you still book into ones they have in the brochures?
i just realised today this tour would be a great way to get around new york because i will be goin on my own before the grand northern tour, and the idea of such a big city is dawnting to me..

I am a seasoned traveller but doing the grand northern/california highlights tours as well as las vegas/san diego and hawaii from late june-mid august. Has anyone got some sensible packing tips?I always seem to overpack and regret it!

so since ive had heaps of great advice for my upcoming europe holiday thought id offer any advice for melbourne since ive lived here all my life LOL hopefully i can recomend clubs beaches to do where to shop etc let me know if any questions

Like alcatraz having to book it in advance, would it be a good idea to book the SATC tour in advance too or is there enough spots for the tour guide to oganise it when were in NY.

Hey all,
Ok so I am doing the european highlights tour in july and it says to bring a towel. So therefore I am assuming that none of the places we stay at supply them ?
My question is, after you have a shower in the morning whats the best way to deal with you towel ? I dont much like the idea of having a wet towel in my suitcase all day because it would get rather smelly.
Any ideas ?

Hi just wonderinf if anyone who has recently been to the UK and Europe had any trouble with their visa debit cards or credit cards if they didn’t have the new chip system on them?? Hope this makes sense!!!
