Hey everyone!
I’m just stressing out because in some information contiki gave me it mentions that “External metal framed backpacks” are unacceptable.
I am unsure because it isnt specific- but im getting the gist of it.
Heres the go: I have a regular sized backpack for everyday use. But it has these metal rods that arch it away from my back- in order to make it cooler and not sweat. Meaning- i guess the bag cant be bent… could be awkward squeezing into a small place.
Im stressing out as im leaving in 6 days… and spent 1.5 hours on hold to contiki the other day…
Any help would be BEATIFUL!

im booked onto the european discovery tour in January 08 but a little confused about the accomodation.
The trip itinery and the inclusions say that we have accomodation on the day that the tour ends but i was under the impression that when we got back between 5-8 we went to accomodation we had arranged ourselves. Just wondering if anyone knows what this is about, just a little hard to try to organise where were going to stay. thanks alot

Hi, I’m thinking of doing the Grand Southern tour in July, since that’s probably the only time I will be able to go in the near future, and was just wondering whether that’s a decent time of year to do that tour, since I know it will be super hot all through the south and probably hot and humid on the east coast. Also I’m guessing there will be huge crowds at disneyworld and stuff, if anyone has any comments, I would love to hear them

could someone please tell me what the names of the places you have stayed at for the concept tours? european contrasts/european escapade or euro spirit.

OK I am from Perth, in West Aus and am in the process of booking a London to Athens tour and am wanting to know what Airlines everyone has flown, and their overall experiences with that carrier. Would you fly with them again?
The last thing I want is to be stuck on a plane with rude staff and uncomfy seats on a long haul flight… Any input would really be appreciated!!

Hi guys just a quick question regarding the European Vista tour.
In the tour notes it says that the afternoon is free to explore. I really want to go see the Louvre while I am there, is this feasible?

Hi, I’m looking at doing the Scandi/Russia tour next July. I will have just turned 35 by that time and am worried that I will be the Grandma of the group. Could any fellow travellers advise of the average age of travellers on this tour and also roughly how many were on their tour? Was the tour fully booked, or coach half full? I hoping that there may be some fellow oldies travelling on these type of tours as it is not the average Euro trip. Also, any idea when the 2010 summer dates will be released? Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hey guys I’m lexie and im from the gold coast. Im 23, single and will be doing a european vista tour on the 18th July.
Just a general question here.
I have read a few comments from people saying they wish they had booked single rooms on their previous trips. I have heard that it can issolate you from everyone but at the same time it would be good to have a place to chill out in after a long day.
Could anyone advise whether it would be a good idea to book a single?
any advise would be great. cheers ; ) lex

trying to work out where to stay pre and post tour. so after my previous post failing i thought i would change to question… where have you stayed pre and/or post tour? what was the cost? what was you opinion of the quality of the hotel/hostel? how close was it to the contiki basement?

Hi Guys
I am going to LA on the 23rd of November and start the LA to the Bay Tour on the 24th. I arrive first thing at the morning and even though I am staying at Kyoto Grand I assume I wont be able to check in that early so will have a day doing stuff and getting tired so I can try beat jetlag!
Does anyone have any recommendations for what to do in a day… in LA? I was thinking of just hoping to take a bus out to the coast and go for a walk around. I have heard down town LA near the hotel is a kinda dodgey area and shouldnt be there late at night as I am travelling alone..
Any advice would be much appreciated.

If I want to do a tour that meets up in London and Amsterdam is the first destination, am I able to meet up with the group in Amsterdam? For example, The European Inspiration (Winter). I want to spend a bit more time in Amsterdam than just 2 nights, so if I stayed 3-4 nights before, can I just meet up at the hotel on the first day of the tour, or do I have to travel to London and start the tour there?

Hi fellow contikians! hahah i’m from Singapore (that is in asia: in case you have no idea where is that). I am trying to set/plan myself for a trip with contiki. Therefore i badly need good advise on where? when? and how?. Though i was thinking of Feb 2011 to celebrate my birthday with a solo trip, i do welcome awesome! suggestions from all you. Thanks!

Does anyone know if the first winter tour (in October) ever been cancelled before? I have booked this tour, but can not seem to find anyone else who is going on this tour!

I will be in London (at RN) for about 6 days before my tour starts. I am wondering if the London Pass is worth buying? I plan on packing in a TON of sightseeing, so financially, I am erring on the side of purchasing the Pass. I was wondering if anyone has used it, or looked into it and if you have any advice. Thanks!!

Im doing the grand explorer in 3 weeks and have chosen the quad share option. I was just wondering do you get to choose who you stay with or does your tour guide put you into groups?

hi im thinking of doing the western highlights from Vegas to San francisco then to L.A.,just wondering do you get to visit Hearst castle along the way because it would be great to be able to visit it??
