Hi all,
Just a quick question – I have a flight back to Australia on the night my tour finishes at 9:25pm from Heathrow, and have been told the tour finishes approximately 6:30.
I’ll need to race to the airport when we arrive back in London, and was just wondering what the quickest method would be (cost is no issue, all I care about it making my flight haha!)
My travel agent seemed sure I could make it in the three hours, but I just wanted to know if a taxi would be the best option?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you ![]()

Hey all,
I read the advice posts a fair bit and have always thought it strange when people say things like “I really want to see this icon/town/whatever but my tour isn’t going there … is it possible for me to do that on my own?” coz it always seemed to defeat the purpose of having the tour organised for you etc etc … BUT NOW i am going to be a hypocrite:
I am going on european escapade on July 25th ‘08 and have just discovered that the day we leave Paris (July 27th) is the final stage/day of “le tour” – where they ride in to the champ elysees. I presume the bus leaves that morning and i would want to see the end of the race early afternoon, so i’m wondering what the chances are of staying that day and travelling to chateau de cruix either that night or the next morning…? lyon is only a couple hours away (trains go all day long) and the chateaux is about 30mins from there i think (dont know how i would get from lyon there?) — anyway, has anyone been on a trip when someone has detoured like this? i know its not ideal also given its the start of the trip when everyone is getting to know each other etc, but im a sports nut and this is seriously a once in a lifetime opportunity!!
thoughts/advice much appreciated!! thanks…

Hi Guys,
I have never travelled with Contiki before, and I’ve never been to Europe.
I need all the advice that is out there:
1. How much spending money?
2. What type of clothes? And how many?
3. What type of luggage will work best?
4. Will your stuff like cameras, be safe?
And any other helpful information will be highly appreciated.

Hi There
I am travelling on the Grand Southern on 7 April. The trip ends on 30 April and I am booked in to stay at the Days Inn Hotel on Broadway in New York. I really wanted to stay in the Beacon but it is fully booked already.
Has anyone ever stayed in this hotel? I am hoping that it is OK and it seems to be close to most things.
Any advice would be most appreciated!

Hey,
Have recently booked in to go on the Southern Trail, 22 days camping, departing July 19th 2011. Anyone out there booked in on this one too? 6 months to go and looking forward to it!
If you have done it before and have any advice or stories let us know.
Cheers,
Sam

hey peoples
just wondering..my travel agent told me that for tours in 08/09 that aren’t out yet…you can pre-register so pretty much you’ll be first on the list. if anyone has done this…does it require a deposit at all and do they just pre-register on a certain tour because they probably wouldn’t have dates?? i just wanna get it out of the road now so i don’t fall back on plans in 8 months time when i would probably book it.

Am doing the Wild Western Winter and am wondering what kind of clothing needs to be packed…any point in bringing shorts??

Hi all
I’ve got the European Adventurer tour booked in for April 2009 (yay!) and was just hoping to hear from someone who’s done this tour on how much spending money you would roughly need. I’ve read around this site that about $150AU a day would do fine which is around $5550.. any opinions?
I’m not going to be going crazy in the shopping department but I see myself spending up on the optional extras and partying! If it’s going to cost a little more than that I need to get myself a second job!
cheers

Hi guys,
Does anybody know at what stage a tour becomes ‘guaranteed?’ I’m booked in to go on the Euro Discovery on Jan 3-14 and have booked my flights etc. Hasn’t really crossed my mind that it would not actually go ahead but now I’m starting to wonder. So far it looks as though we have at least 10 people on my tour according to the forums. If you’be been on Euro Discovery before, could you tell me if it’s usually popular at this time of year as well?
Thanks,
Leea.

Hi…bit off topic but not too sure where to post this – has anyone been to the Greek Islands recently (perhaps mykonos or corfu, Santorini, wherever!) and could recommend a good cheap place for young people to stay? Is there perhaps an area or a backpackers where young travellers notoriously stay and party? We were going to do the greek islands hopping tour but are unsure at teh moment…we may end up doing it on our own after our highlights tour.
Or if you have been on one of the tours that include Greece, perhaps you could give some feedback?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello All,
I am looking to do the European discovery tour(winter) for 12 days and I wondered roughly how much money you guys would advise on taking to make sure I have enough for any extra excursions etc? x
