If you change your mind or can’t make the original date you booked, your deposit will remain secure until you’re ready to use it on a new departure date, or even a different trip altogether. You can use the Contiki FlexDeposit until your 36th birthday. After that, you can transfer it to be used on a trip with any of the other brands within The Travel Corporation. You can also gift your FlexDeposit to a friend within 5 years of your original booking date. To do this, just send us an email, stating the name of the person you’d like to gift it to.
FlexDeposit applies to the land tour deposit only and excludes any additional deposits (i.e. the Inca Trail or flights if applicable). FlexDeposit has no cash value and is non-refundable.
The amount you can redeem on a new/amended booking is equal to the original deposit amount paid. In the case of multiple deposits due to back-to-back trips, only one deposit amount can be credited per trip, they cannot be combined. However, you can book multiple trips using multiple FlexDeposits.
A FlexDeposit is Contiki’s built-in protection on every trip deposit. Instead of being forfeited if your plans change, the deposit stays “live” so you can reuse it later.
If you switch to another departure date or even a different Contiki itinerary, the full amount of your original deposit will be credited to that new booking.
You can apply your FlexDeposit to any Contiki trip until the day before your 36th birthday.
You can transfer your unused FlexDeposit to one of the other awesome brands within the Travel Corporation group (e.g., Trafalgar, Insight Vacations).
Yes. Within five years of the original booking date, you can gift the deposit once. Just email us with the name of the person you’d like to receive it.
No. It is non-refundable and can only be used as credit towards a Contiki trip.
FlexDeposit is applied only to the land-tour deposit. Additional deposits—such as for Inca Trail permits or flights—are sadly not included.
No. If you have multiple deposits from back-to-back trips, only one deposit can be credited per new trip. You can, however, use each FlexDeposit toward separate bookings.

Terms & conditions
DEPOSIT
Only a $200 deposit per person is required to confirm your trip booking. Deposit is due at the time of booking. Full payment is required 60 days before travel. Once the deposit is paid, you can change your selected trip or the departure dates up until 60 days before the selected departure, with no change fees. Any difference in trip prices will still be applicable. $200 per person deposit is land only deposit and excludes any additional deposits such as Inca Trail or flights if applicable.
Our $200 per person deposit offer is valid for new bookings, for travel from September 1, 2020. The deposit is combinable with Early Payment Discount, Early Booking Discount, Last Minute Deals, year-round savings and exclusive partner offers.This offer is based on availability and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
AMENDMENTS & CANCELLATION
You can cancel or amend your trip up to 60 days prior to trip departure. Any differences in trip costs between your original and new booking will still be applicable.
You can cancel your trip up to 60 days before departure and get your money back, excluding the deposit amount. Your flexible deposit will remain attached your profile and can be used to book a new trip whenever you're ready with us or one of our TTC sister brands, or it can even be gifted to a friend as per the conditions of our FlexDeposit policy.
Cancellations within 60 days of departure are subject to our standard fees as outlined in our booking conditions.
FLEXDEPOSIT POLICY
FlexDeposit is a policy you automatically get once you’ve paid a deposit on any Contiki trip. It means if you need to cancel for any reason, your deposit will remain secure until you’re ready to use it on new trip dates or on a different trip, ensuring your deposit isn't lost if you can't travel on your original trip as intended. FlexDeposit can be used up until your 36th birthday, after which time it can then be transferred for use with any other travel brand within The Travel Corporation family of brands. It can also be gifted to a friend within 5 years of the original booking date. To gift to family or friend the customer must email confirmation to Contiki stating the nominated name. Gifting only valid within 5 calendar years of the original booking.

The amount allowed to be redeemed on a new or amended trip booking is equal to the original deposit amount paid. FLEXIBLE PAYMENT, PAY OVER TIME & FINANCING
Once a deposit is paid, full payment is not required until 60 days before travel. You can pay off your full trip cost in as many payment instalments as you like with no interest or additional fees as long as your trip balance is paid in full 60 days before departure. In some regions, we have financing options to help you pay for your trip via partner providers, such as Zip in Australia. The credit offered is determined by the Third party partner providers.
Contiki’s Gold Seal Protection (GSP) plan costs only A$99 per person. Your GSP plan is available only upon paying your deposit and cannot be added at a later date. GSP gives you additional peace of mind should your travel plans change, and includes:
Pre-departure Cancellation
GSP allows you to cancel your Contiki holiday for any reason without penalty prior to 30 days from the start date of your trip:
Airline travel costs and any related cancellation or rebooking costs are not covered by the Gold Seal Protection Plan.
Please note that the Gold Seal Protection plan cost is not refundable for any reason. Travel Agent fees and cancellation costs may apply.
During Your Trip
Should your holiday be interrupted and you leave at any time during the trip due to personal illness or injury; or be required to return to Australia because of the serious injury, illness or death of an immediate family member^:
(a) you will be refunded A$90 per person/ per day for the unused portion of the holiday. Please note that in some cases hotels require a 1-night cancellation fee.
(b) Contiki will pay the additional cost of airline travel for earlier or later return to Australia in the same class of air travel on the first available flight, provided the original return air tickets were booked through Contiki from Australia on Contiki’s recommended airline.
A medical certificate is required to qualify for this holiday interruption and return flight security provision.
*Force Majeure Event – means any event or circumstance beyond Contiki’s control, including but not limited to: an act of God (such as earthquake, flood, fire, explosion, landslide, lightening, action of the elements, force of nature, washout, typhoon, hurricane, tsunami, storm or storm warning or natural disaster); industrial disputes, work ban or other labour dispute or difficulty; acts of terrorism, political unrest, war or threat of war, riots or civil strife; closure of airports or ports; pandemic, epidemic or health risk; governmental and administrative actions (including the closure of borders and travel warning and restrictions).
**Contiki Holiday Pre-payment – means all monies paid to Contiki in respect of land arrangements only.
^Immediate Family – means a parent, spouse or partner, sibling or child.
Note: GSP is only available for up to 9 guests on a group booking on a set departure and needs to be booked with names and per person deposits at the time of booking the group. GSP is not available on custom groups.
