What are the requirements?

To be considered for this role, you must have the legal right to live and work in the country in the respective regions.
Although not required, the following will be of benefit to you in your application for this position:

Experience working with and leading groups.
Confidence when speaking in front of a group.
Previous travel in Asia.
Having previously travelled with Contiki or participated in a group tour of some description.

What happens next?

Expressions of interest will sit in our system till opportunities become available. When a position opens, we will reach out to shortlisted candidates and invite them to submit a pre-recorded video interview.
The next stage: Candidates who are successful in the video interview will then be invited to a group interview. As part of the group interview, you will be asked to prepare a short talk on a subject that we will provide in advance with specific guidelines. On the same day , we will invite you to an individual interview; this individual interview will typically take 10-30mins.
The final stage of the recruitment process is to attend one of our Trip Leader training trips. Our training trips are renowned for being intense and very challenging so the more advance preparation you undertake the better off you will be. Upon successful completion of a training trip, you will be allocated your first trip to operate.
When you work for Contiki you are joining a global brand; your opportunities to further your expertise stretch from Europe to Australia, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and New Zealand – if you have the right to work there and the interest in tackling a new region, we want you! Given the reputation of our training program, you will always go far in the fields of travel, tourism and beyond.

Can you do all of your interviews by video call or telephone?

We do not offer final interviews by telephone or FaceTime/Teams/Zoom as we cannot assess all of our key criteria for the Trip Leader position in this way. Interpersonal skills are important, and we can't figure this out with technology in the way we would like to. If you wish to apply for the position you must be available to interview in person which is why we will offer many different opportunities for you to attend an interview in person.

Is there any compensation for travel?

We do appreciate that many of our applicants travel from near and far for these interviews but we do not offer compensation for this travel - those of you who are successful will have the job of a lifetime with many opportunities to come!

Question 6

Do I need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to work as a Trip Leader for Contiki?

Accepted Answer

As from 1 January 2023, Covid vaccinations and boosters will be highly recommended but no longer required. 
We will adopt the same stance for our Crew as we will our Travellers. 
It is important to also note that both Contiki Travellers & Crew will need to comply with specific vaccine and/or booster requirements imposed by airlines and/or authorities in the destinations they will be visiting - as well as meet any requirements for accessing restaurants and venues, which may be more restrictive than above.
