The places and activities I visited and participated in were mostly amazing. My trip manager and driver were outstanding and really made the adventure worth it. I had some concerns with 2 accommodation places we stayed at and 2-3 of the FTA (free time add-ons) were not value for money and/or not recommended to complete at all. When reading about the tours the information provided made it appear that nothing else would need to be paid for once you where travelling, which wasn't the case. Although I was prepared for accidentals, others weren't. I would recommend adjusting brochure/tour information or clearly outlining in the information packages we receive that you would be expected to pay for some public transport tickets, entry fees to some sights and so on.

Other than two of the accommodations it was an amazing experience and definitely worth the money. Given that they stop sending people to bed bug covered hotels.

Everything was good until the very end after filling out the feedback form on the 3rd last day of the trip! Our trip manager and driver were amazing but I'm not very happy with the decision made to the last severely bed bugged affected jotel. See details above. I was hoping to upload some of my skin infection photos but the button before does not allow me to upload photos even though it looked like it can.

Contiki shouldn’t ask for all add ons upfront and get team managers to rave on about how great they are when they either haven’t done all the add ons or they aren’t all that great. Most add ons weren’t very good. A lot of people could of saved themselves a lot of money. Within the first week having experience this it felt like Contiki was just a rip off....which it is. Contiki should organise age groups abit better. If most people are 18-22 on the tour group and only a handful are 25 and one 27 years of age they shouldn’t combine them all. It’s a really immature experience for older ages. I was made to feel like I was back at school. Younger people had no respect for others (vomiting all over toilets that had to be shared, coming in joint rooms drunk and causing a racket) Contiki MUST change the shared males and women’s toilets/bathrooms at the Chateau in France. No hostel, hotel or even PUBLIC TIOLETS around Europe make men and women share so why do boys and girls staying at the Chateu have too Share the same toilets and bathrooms??? Poor organisation. Perhaps contiki is owned by a male ? It’s very inconsiderate. No where on the information sheet for my contiki or on the website did I read or see that up to 4-6 people will be sharing a room together. It’s fraudulent advertising. I knew I was staying in a triple share at the Royal national before my trip because it stated it in my travel information. There was nothing to be said about the 4 people that I would mostly be staying with throughout my trip in a room that is meant to hold a max 2 people!! The accommodation was poor. I can recall staying in only 4 decent hotels, the rest were very bad (dirty, no hot water, bed mites). Therefore the rooms we stayed were already cheap and then divide that by 4 people. Well let’s just say I’d like to know where my $7,500 went? Because it didn’t go towards decent accommodation or by that means decent breakfast. 7,500 X 45 people that’s a lot of money. Even with having traveled 10,000 km (because I asked the driver) that well and truly leaves plenty of money over for decent accommodation. Don’t forget the $7,500 isn’t even including the extra $1680 I payed for the add ons!!! When you have only 9 males and the other 36 are female it would of been more considerate and smart to have a female tour manager. Instead we had a male which obviously wasn’t able to communicate in a way that is understanding to females. So inconsiderate !! Basically contiki is a rip off. I will never recommend it. If I had of known what I was really signing up for I never would have went with contiki. I was better off doing it myself which is what I am doing now traveling around the UK in a camper and I’m absolutely loving it.

You can get over a few dodgy hotels for a night or two when you're in some of the most amazing cities with the most amazing bunch of complete strangers, was nervous going into it but would do it again in a heartbeat

Easy to do, just watch out for the sneaky discounts as I almost ended up paying way more than I could have when they reduced the trip last minute.

At times the accommodation or provided meals didn't seem to justify the cost of the trip. When you balance all things out I can see where some of the costs even out but I thought that some aspects should have been better.
