Athens is the classic launchpad - ancient ruins, rooftop bars, and ferries galore. But Santorini and Mykonos are also iconic kick-off points if you're flying in fancy. Basically: start where the cocktails are cold and the ferry connections are hot.

Most of 'em! The Cyclades (hello Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Ios...) are super ferry-friendly with speedy routes. There’s also Crete, Naxos, Milos and more—just check the ferry schedules and make sure Poseidon’s in a good mood.

Late May to early October is prime time. July and August bring the heat and the party crowds. May, June and September? Way more chill, easier on your wallet, and still sunshine central. Trust us—off-peak is peak energy.
