The England and Scotland trip left me pretty satisfied. I got a pretty good sampling of the (mostly) northern parts of England, with a good mix of historical and sightseeing experiences, along with some good nightlife. And I got a nice revisit to one of my favorite places, Scotland and the Highlands. It does boggle, a little bit, that many of the other travellers weren't taking in the beautiful and romantic views/landscape of the Highlands as we drove through. This is really the highlight of the Highlands!
This trip does stop in Portree, on the Isle of Skye, which I've spent a few days on, previously, and it almost seems wasteful to drive through a fair bit of the island for just an hour and a half in Portree (for lunch), without any other significant stops. The island is beautiful to drive through, but there are lots of great things to see there if there was more time. In some ways, I might suggest dropping the Isle of Skye in exchange for spending more time in Oban (where the hotel is that night). Oban seemed really interesting and beautiful but we didn't really get much time there.
As for the staff on the trip, the trip manager, Tim, did an excellent job keeping us organized and informed, as well as providing some nice extra experiences in most cities and keeping up with, and pushing, the energy of the group. Our driver, Bart, got us to all of our destinations safely and in a timely manner and had no trouble driving the left-side-drive (European) coach on the left side of the road!
If you've ever been slightly interested in Scotland, or England, just go! You will not regret it!
