Devin Supertramp, Chloe Morello and more share their all-time favourite Contiki memories

Devin Supertramp and a group of men are sitting on a ledge next to a cliff.

If you’ve ever been on a Contiki trip, you’ll know it’s an experience unlike any other, and once you’ve done it, you just get it. You understand the hype, you get why the doubters were wrong, and you take away memories that will give you the fuzzies till the day you die.

That’s what we pride ourselves – the memory making – and we think some of our internet famous friends may just agree with us. Want to know what their happiest moments on Contiki looked like? Well, a little like this:

Devin SuperTramp, YouTuber, from USA

“Riding on a boat along the Almalfi coastline in Italy, seeing the cliffs covered in colourful houses and riding through what I think they call the “lovers arch”, are some of my best travel memories of all time.”

“It’s so hard to narrow all my Contiki memories down to one highlight! I think paragliding in Switzerland over the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen was something that I will NEVER forget and I’m so glad that I challenged myself to do it on my Contiki.”

Laureen Uy, Fashion & Travel Blogger, from the Philippines

“My favourite moment during my Contiki trip was when I jumped off a boat in Capri, Italy, for the first time ever. I know it sounds shallow but I’ve always been scared to do it and I finally did, with my best friend and new friends all there to see it. I’ll never forget that moment.”

Jamie Curry, YouTuber, from New Zealand

“My favourite moment was probably running in the rain with Jesse Wellens from Prank vs Prank on the Contiki RoadTrip through Asia. We were exploring the Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam when this huge storm hit us, and we were running through the tunnels carrying our tripods, trying not to get lost and find our way back to the bus. It was wild!”

Jordan Dyck, Instagrammer, from Canada

“While I was on the Contik Cares Storytellers trip through Australia, we took an overnight cruise of the Whitsunday Islands. In a spur of the moment decision less than two days after meeting each other, we all decided to sleep on the deck of the boat, underneath the stars. We were near the bottom of the boat, when all the sudden we heard some splashing from the ocean. We grabbed our flashlights to see four dolphins playing in the ocean, almost close enough to touch! Looking up to a sky filled with stars, magical was the only word to describe it.”

Chloe Morello, YouTuber, from Australia

“My favourite Contiki memory would have to be during the RoadTrip through Asia, when we all ate cockroaches and spiders as part of one of the RoadTrip challenges! It’s something I would never think I could do back home in my day-to-day life, but there in the moment I felt so much more adventurous and strong with my new travel buddies, and trying it all together was a crazy new experience I know would never have happened without Contiki. I feel like such a badass now whenever someone asks me what the craziest thing I’ve done is, or the craziest thing I’ve ever eaten. The roaches weren’t that bad either, kinda salty.”

Alli Speed, YouTuber, from USA

“It’s impossible for me to choose just one moment as there are so many, but one thing that always sticks out in my mind is the last night of the first European RoadTrip. The whole group went up the London Eye for a last celebratory toast, and to get an incredible view of the city twinkling below us at night. As we stood around chatting about how awesome the trip was, we broke out into the day song (“We Are Young” by Fun). Every one of us was screaming it at the top of our lungs, and reliving the feeling we got each morning as we boarded the coach and prepared for the adventures of the day. It was such a magical moment, suspended in the air with a group of people who I didn’t know very well just a few days before, singing together as loudly as we could as though we were the best and oldest of friends. I will cherish that evening forever.”

Emma Lucey, Blogger & Instagrammer, from Australia

“While in the Phi Phi islands on the #thaiwest trip, we took a tour around the smaller islands and Maya Bay. At one point we were able to jump out of the boat and swim in the serene, turquoise water in the cove. It was just so beautiful, and being there with our amazing group – dancing and swimming all day – it really was paradise.”
