If you thought a bus was simply a vessel to transport you from A to B, you couldn’t be more wrong. It’s on our coaches that you’ll make some of the best travel memories; getting your Beyonce on in a karaoke sesh, swapping stories about the trip so far and catching those all-important zzz’s after an amazing night on the town. Our Contiki coaches will see you catching some of Europe’s most stunning landscapes or embarking on a truly American road trip, all in the company of your Contiki family. The road crew are around the same age as our travellers and they take ‘fun’ to a whole new level, keeping you well and truly entertained on your road trip.
As well as your Tour Manager we also use expert Local Guides who'll give you a unique insider's perspective on the places you visit. It's the special angle only a local can give. Think catching a train or taking public transport is the most environmentally friendly choice? Surprisingly, you’re wrong. In actual fact, coach travel as a mode of transport consistently comes out top as the greenest travel option. Whether you’re traversing the rugged terrains of South America or surrounded by single red hues of the Australian outback, it’s all the more reason to choose Contiki for a road trip of epic proportions.

What is a good road trip?
Route 66 is probably the world's most famous road trip. Covering two thousand miles and 8 states, this iconic route is world-famous for a reason, which is why we have it covered on many of our trips in the USA & Canada. But there are many more iconic routes across the world. Why not visit Australia's sweeping Great Ocean Road, a stretch o coast that runs from Melbourne across Victoria for some beautiful beaches and glittering surf-spots? Then there's the North Coast 500 in Scotland, that brings you through staggering landscapes all the way to the otherworldly isle of Skye.
How long would it take to road trip around the US?
It depends on what road trip you want to do. If you're planning an iconic route 66 trip, what John Steinbeck called ' the mother road' we recommend at least 2 weeks driving, but really there are so many stops along the way that it's impossible to put a finite number on it. That's why we have different options on all of our USA & Canada road trips, so you can hit the highway your way and see everything you want to see and more.
Our different travel styles are all about giving you choice. Differentiated by how many places you want to visit and how much you want included in the price, it means you know exactly what you’re getting when you travel with us.
