This is not a drill: Ferrero is looking for Nutella-tasters to move to Italy

Nutella-on-spoon

Ever deemed yourself so good at eating Nutella that you wondered if there was a way for you to do it professionally? Well, we’ve got some exciting news for you…

Nutella addicts, unite! The company that makes Nutella, as well as a whole bunch of other mouth-watering coco-treats such as Kinder Bueno and Ferrero Rocher, is hiring professional product tasters to…well, taste their products. The role requires being on-site surrounded by chocolatey goodness for 2 days a week, so you’d probably need to find another source of income on the side. Still, if that’s not part time job goals, then I truly don’t know what is.

Before you get too carried away, the job involves way more than sitting around all day eating Nutella straight out of the jar as you get gloriously tanned under the Italian sun (as dreamy as that does sound.) For the initial three months (paid) training period, employees will get clued up on the art of professional tasting, including learning how to distinguish between cocoa and hazelnut grains, and sampling unfinished products. Then, they’ll be deemed worthy to wear the badge of honour of being a full-time professional Nutella taster.

It might seem a little more complex than you imagined, but you’re in luck: the job clearly states the no experience is the best kind of experience, as they’re specifically looking for non-professionals to be ‘sensory judges’. So don’t worry if your resume is looking a little sparse…

The icing on the cake? The job would mean relocating to the companies headquarters in the town of Alba, Northern Italy. This picturesque Roman town lies in the heart of the Piedmont region in Italy, also known as the white truffle capital of the world. In fact, with one of the highest concentrations of Michelin-star restaurants in the entire nation, it’s safe to say that Alba is pretty much the global place to be if you’re a lover of drool-worthy European cuisine.

As if it all couldn’t already be more perfect, Fererro is actually hiring 60 product tasters – which means it’s time to round up all your chocoholic besties and apply as a Nutella-tasting power squad. Oh, and it’s probably best to dust off that Italian phrasebook too…

Think you’ve got what it takes? Send your CV to alba@openjob.it to apply. Good luck!
