From boutique breweries to hiking trails, here are some of the best things to do in Byron Bay.
1. Walk to the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse
If you’ve ever thought about a trip to Byron Bay before, you’ve likely come across a bunch of tourist’s happy snaps of the Cape Byron Lighthouse. The popular 3.7km loop takes you through leafy green palms, past stunning lookouts and up to the lighthouse for unforgettable views. 2. Sample gin in the Cape Byron distillery
On a Macadamia Farm in the Byron hinterland, this tin and timber shed distillery is the perfect addition to your itinerary. Stop in at the cellar door for a taste of the boutique gins and cocktails on offer.

3. Swim in Minyon Falls
Take on the four-hour Minyon Loop Walking Track or head straight for the Minyon Grass picnic area to reach the base of this beautiful waterfall and plunge pool.
4. Hit up the boutiques
If you’re a fan of sustainable and ethical fashion brands with chilled vibes, Byron Bay is one of the best places for you to shop. Spell & The Gypsy Collective, Arnhem, Auguste The Label, Rowie The Label and St. Agni are just some of the great Aussie labels based in Byron.
5. Head to Stone & Wood brewery
One of the most famous breweries in the region, Stone & Wood is a laid-back brewery serving up delicious canteen food and, of course, their famous beer. You can opt for a tour, guided tasting or just pull up for a pint!

6. Kayak with the dolphins
Feel like adding something adventurous to your bucket list? Join a tour with Cape Byron Kayaks or GoSea Kayaks to take on the coastline and spot dolphins out in the ocean.
7. Catch a gig at The Northern
Local beers, a new restaurant and cocktail bar are on the agenda at this casual pub. But it’s the great Aussie bands like Polish Club and Jungle Giants who really draw a crowd. Keep your eyes across the pub’s pages for line-ups and your chance to enjoy a great gig.
8. Check out the Byron Bay Markets

With fewer crowds, plenty of picnic tables, BBQs and grassy areas, the smaller Wategos Beach is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Grab your towels, your mates and some snacks and head over to Wategos for a sunset picnic.
