Prague, you SO beautiful. This charming city looks good in every season, is small enough to explore by foot AND is home to some of the heartiest, most delicious plant-based dishes in the world. So, it made sense to ask The Little London Vegan (AKA the co-host of Contiki’s new Vegan Food Europe Explorer trip) for her pick of the best vegan restaurants in Prague, after her trip earlier this year. Need help finding them? Check out her GoogleMap list of the best spots.
1. Forky’s
Relaxed vibes, fast service and biodegradable packaging, Forky’s is a casual bistro cafe style venue serving up 100% vegan grub. The menu is varied, the staff are friendly and the venue itself is spread over two levels. As an added bonus, it’s dog-friendly too!
What to order: The French Burger
Address: Veleslavínova 93/10, 110 00 Josefov, Czechia
2. Maitrea
This is a sit-down veggie restaurant but boasts a decent amount of vegan options. The venue is big but feels cosy at the same time, it gets quite busy at peak hours. I liked that you can get vegan versions of Czech dishes and the labelling on the menu is super-helpful – telling you wish dishes contain honey / are vegan / are gluten-free / contain onion / contain garlic.
What to order: Spicy goulash
Address: Týnská ulička 1064/6, 110 00 Josefov, Czechia

3. Moment Cafe
This is a super-trendy, casual little cafe where you’ll feel right at home. It’s 100% vegan and the staff are just lovely. It’s a perfect spot to chow down on brunch before exploring the city.
What to order: The tofu scramble
Address: Slezská 62, 120 00 Vinohrady, Czechia

4. Pastva
What a fantastic spot! I fell in love with Pastva’s chilled vibes, Scandi decor and buzzing atmosphere before I even had a bite to eat. Once I tried the plant-based food, it cemented itself as my FAVOURITE spot in Prague.
What to order: The lasagna (although I highly doubt any order would disappoint)
Address: Nádražní 54/102, Anděl, 150 00 Praha 5-Smíchov, Czechia

5. Loving Hut
Loving Hut is a vegan institution with branches dotted all over the world. This casual, takeaway-style store is perfect for vegans on the go who want to stop and grab a quick bite while exploring the city.
What to order: Kung Pao
Address: Jungmannova 738/18, 110 00 Nové Město, Czechia

6. Country Life
This is a super-cute, unassuming venue located right in the heart of the city. It’s got a very relaxed feel and is a plant-based buffet-style where you pay by weight. They’ve got a range of hot and cold options, and the staff are very helpful. It’s good value for money, too.
What to order: Pile your plate high with all of the dishes you can fit in your belly
Address: Melantrichova 463/15, 110 00 Staré Město, Czechia
