I'm Joel, a 25-year old, recently converted person of the world. Once I popped the bubble of Manchester, UK with my one-way flight ticket to Bangkok in 2019, suddenly my life transformed in front of my very eyes. Before leaving on the adventure, I had little expectation. When I arrived back, my expectations were exceeded beyond my wildest dreams - and with a new relationship. I love food - scratch that - I am IN LOVE with food, so exploring the different cuisines, the love the people put into it and not to mention the scorching heat from the chillis alone, it was just one aspect which made my journey feel like home. Travel blurs every single line you think is drawn, it forces you to interact with who you truly are. All you needed was a little heat, a little spice and some sand! But in all seriousness, travel is truly letting the bird the out of the cage to be free. The small things like kick-starting a moped with just dirt roads and a speedometer in front of you is a feeling you don't comprehend, it's just true liberation which puts a smile on my face while just typing it up. The person sat next to you at a beach bar can suddenly become your greatest friend, every step you take is a step closer to understanding who you are, every interaction is like tasting a new ingredient. Now I currently settle for recreating Thai green curry at home, but nothing beats being in your home away from home.
