Hello! I'm a medical student at the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada). As a child, I had the opportunity to travel across Canada as a competitive dancer. I was very proud of the fact that I had visited all 10 provinces by the time I was 15. When the opportunity to participate in a cultural/language exchange in high school arose, I jumped at the opportunity. A student from Belgium came to live with my family for 3 months and I spent 3 months wither her family in a town outside of Brussels. During that time, I also had the opportunity to visit Paris, Amsterdam, and Cologne. I fell in love with Europe and I cannot wait to go back. I kept a blog while abroad so my friends and family back in Canada could stay up-to-date on my adventures. My second big adventure was a humanitarian trip to Burkina Faso (Africa). This experience was completely different from my time in Europe and it made me reflect on how lucky I am. I was there for 2 weeks and I had the opportunity to work in an orphanage, help paint a school, and spend some time in a hospital. Now that I'm in medical school, I'm hoping to participate in a Global Health exchange next summer. Since COVID has put a damper on most of my recent travel plans, I've spent most of my free time baking, working out, and spending time with my daughter. I'm a huge foodie and I love visiting cafes in Edmonton. My husband and I recently returned from a 2 week Contiki trip to the United Kingdom and Ireland for our 1 year anniversary/my 25th birthday! We can't wait for our next trip. Italy perhaps?
