Kev-Contiki Trip Manger

Descending from the home of the Beatles (Liverpool), he’s a big time festival goer, with Glastonbury being his summer festival go-to. Whilst seeing Rage Against the Machine perform at the UK’s Leeds and Reading Festival in 2008/09 remains his all time favourite festival memory.

"I knew a few of the songs at the time but didn’t know much about the band so had average expectations but they blew me away! The best atmosphere and best gig I’ve ever seen live.”

So the big question is, what are Kev’s go-to tunes when he’s manning the decks of the Contiki coach whilst on a road trip around the UK? Well we’ve got the answer, here’s Kev’s top 10 UK tracks:

Beatles – Here comes the sun

A band that needs no introduction. This feel good Beatles song is sure to give you chilled out, positive vibes when you’re on route to the Beatles hometown of Liverpool.

Ocean Colour Scene – The day we caught the train

This cheeky 90’s rock band will give some old school vibes to your journey with their 1996 classic ‘The day we caught the train’.

Ed Sheeran – Castle on the hill

We’re pretty sure you’ll be singing along to this one as we make our way to the historical fortress which is Edinburgh Castle. ‘Castle on the Hill’, sang by the UK iconic Ed Sheeran will no doubt have you getting up off your seats, ready for an Edinburgh filled adventure.

The Verve – bitter sweet symphony

What a tune! This English rock band track is the ultimate classic coach singalong. The lyrics of everyday life may seem a little mundane but these rock singers vocals sure do make up for it!

Manic Street Preachers – A design for life

This Welsh rock band often known as the Manics, had a fair few hit songs in the 80’s and 90’s, including this belter ‘A Design for Life’, all about class conflict and identity in the mid 90’s.

Joy Division – Love will tear us apart

Another UK classic, old school anthem – ‘Love will tear us apart’ is a song by English post-punk band Joy Division released wayyyy back in 1980.

The Smiths – There is a light that never goes out

This 1986 track sees Morrissey sing about not having a home, yet generations of fans have found some kind of home in the passion and pain of The Smiths lyrics.

Elbow – One day like this

The artists may not sound familiar to you but the song sure will. This 2008 tune is yet another great sing along by Manchester based rock band, Elbow.

Blur – Parklife

An absolute feel good classic. These four cheeky chaps, formally known as the band Blur are bound to have you chanting along to one of their most iconic chart topping tracks, about a park #parklife.

Oasis – Live forever

Saving the best till last, this never gets old! Back when Liam and Noel Gallagher were not a war they were making some pretty incredible tunes, namely ‘Live Forever’, in which they sing with a pretty optimistic outlook on life, ‘we’re gonna live forever’.
