Meet Kev, a Liverpool (UK) native Contiki Trip Manger and all round on-the-road legend. Kev’s been working with Contiki since 2012, and has been a travel-guru around Europe since 2014, specialising in the sights of the UK and Ireland. With 5 years of experience, Kev sure does know his stuff, but he’s not only clued up when it comes to his travel knowledge, he’s also a massive music lover.
Descending from the home of the Beatles (Liverpool), he’s a big time festival goer, with Glastonbury being his summer festival go-to. Whilst seeing Rage Against the Machine perform at the UK’s Leeds and Reading Festival in 2008/09 remains his all time favourite festival memory.
"I knew a few of the songs at the time but didn’t know much about the band so had average expectations but they blew me away! The best atmosphere and best gig I’ve ever seen live.”
So the big question is, what are Kev’s go-to tunes when he’s manning the decks of the Contiki coach whilst on a road trip around the UK? Well we’ve got the answer, here’s Kev’s top 10 UK tracks:
Beatles – Here comes the sun
Ocean Colour Scene – The day we caught the train
Ed Sheeran – Castle on the hill
The Verve – bitter sweet symphony
Manic Street Preachers – A design for life
Joy Division – Love will tear us apart
The Smiths – There is a light that never goes out
