The second person to head out on an adventure to see one of the most famous wonders is Sam or, as you may know him, Captain Potter. Over nine days, Sam travelled with Contiki to check out all the must-visit places Brazil and Argentina have on offer.

We sat down with Sam after his trip to find out his favourite parts, for all of the real travel inspiration, check out his vlog below.

1. What did you enjoy most about the trip?

I loved the balance of guidance and freedom Contiki provided while we were making our way through Argentina and Brazil. They dealt with all the annoying logistical parts of travel, gave me local advice and pointed me in the right direction, but also allowed me to keep my own schedule, and go explore on my own!

2. What did you learn while traveling with Contiki?

I think Contiki reminded me that sometimes “because it’ll be fun” can be a good a reason to do something as any. Life doesn’t last forever, and it shouldn’t always be taken so seriously.

3. What was most unexpected about Contiki?

Honestly, how much I enjoyed my group and group travel, since I usually like traveling alone. I miss them already and I definitely made a couple friends I plan to see again.

4. Any tips for future travelers?

When you enter another country, remember that you’re not entering your vacation destination, you’re entering someone else’s home with a people, a culture, and a history that has something to share.

But if all that has you thinking nine days is far too short to achieve your travel goals, we’ve got a little sweetener for you. What if we told you Contiki would pay your rent while you visited all 7 wonders of the world? Yep, read more here.
