THOUSANDS OF TREES PLANTED BECAUSE OF YOU

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Treading lightly isn’t just something we say, it’s woven through everything we do. It’s our responsibility to respect and protect the places we go and the people we meet.

In partnership with OneTreePlanted, Contiki is committed to planting one tree for every one of our travellers who uses e-documents. This program will result in thousands of trees being planted across barren and devastated land in Northern California, Brazil and the Andes. Since introducing the scheme in February 2018, Contiki has already helped plant over 40,000 trees (about 71 acres) on behalf of every traveller who selected e-documents.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Home to Contiki’s USA team, and the setting for some of our most incredible trips, California has been devastated by fires destroying over a million acres of forest. With your help, Contiki and OneTreePlanted will plant a new forest for the region.

BRAZIL

Centuries of deforestation have reduced the size of the Atlantic forest by 90%. This tropical ecosystem provides water for two of the countries major cities - Rio de Janeiro and São Paolo, and by planting trees we will help recover the endangered ecosystem, protecting Brazil’s fresh water supply.

THE ANDES

The preservation of Andean forest is vital for climate resilience, fresh water supply, biodiversity of native species and local community livelihoods. We work with Andes Action, a Latin American-led initiative aiming to restore one million hectares of critical forests in six Andean countries in the next 25 years. On the ground, leaders harness ancient Inca traditions in rural communities for wide scale change.

We believe sustainable tourism matters.
Contiki Cares is our commitment to preserving the planet, wildlife and giving back to the communities we visit for generations to come.
