Five Vintage Shops Worth Checking Out in Paris

Who doesn’t want to go shopping when they visit the City of Light? Setting fashion and art trends for decades, Paris is a place to dive in and find some vintage threads to add to your collection. We’ve rounded up five of our favorites to check out, because as Audrey Hepburn once said, “Paris is always a good idea.”

Free P*Star

For vintage junkies, no visit to Paris is complete without a rummage through Free P* Star. Get lost in the piles of clothes in bins and racks – this is a place that will make you work if you’re looking for something special to take away. They also have a 1 Euro bin and a 5 Euro bin if you’re looking to find vintage pieces without a hefty price tag – but be prepared to roll up your sleeves and dig for the hidden gems.

20 Rue de Rivoli, 75004 Paris, France

By Flowers

Tucked away in Paris’ mythic quartier, By Flowers is a tiny storefront near the Sacre Couer that houses couture vintage pieces alongside old furniture, magazines, and other odds and ends that the owner will gladly tell you about – it’s like a museum with artwork you can actually buy! Prices vary depending on the pieces, so you can spend as little or as much as you like. Whether you’re looking for Levi’s or a unique shirt to bring home as a souvenir, By Flowers is a one-stop shop for your French vintage needs.

Thanx God I’m a VIP

Known as “TGV” (no, not the high-speed train in France), Thanx God I’m a VIP is a vintage shop that showcases the collision of music and fashion. If you’re looking to channel your inner French flower child or “bring back the 80’s,” you’re bound to find a fashion piece worthy of the era. What makes TGV unique is the slew of parties that founder Sylvie Chateigner hosts – bringing the world of music, media and fashion together. The shop also has a radio station, Thanx God Radio Station.

12 Rue de Lancry, 75010 Paris, France

Come on Eileen

Admit it – you’re totally singing the song in your head. But at Come on Eileen, you won’t be finding anything resembling the wardrobe of an 80’s pop band– especially no overalls (watch the music video to see what we mean). Designer labels are the name of the game at Come on Eileen. In comparison to other vintage or consignment shops, this store might have a heftier price tag but if you want to find some truly unique pieces, be prepared to do a little digging.

16/18 Rue des Taillandiers, 75011 Paris, France

Didier Ludot

If you’re looking for luxe Parisien vintage, check out Didier Ludot. Be forewarned – you won’t find a ‘thrift store come-up’ in this shop – the prices are steep but some of the vintage haute couture that you’ll discover are French-made pieces that span decades – going as far back as the 1920’s and touting names like Yves St. Laurent, Chanel, or even Hermes. Up the ante on your antiquated wardrobe and add some vintage flair with timeless pieces that will be the envy of all your friends.
