1. The first social distance ‘concert’ is happening in August
Yep, Ontario’s new norm will be watching concerts from the car! Although large public gatherings such as gigs and sport events will be among the last events allowed to go head, Toronto is looking into alternatives for now. This includes band, July Talk, announcing they will be hosting two drive-in concerts near the city this August, reports Narcity. There’s hope for music lovers yet!

2. A couple has fallen in love in the time of Covid-19
Yes, a couple of Verona have found socially distanced love! The BBC reported how the couple found each other from across their balconies while staying home in Verona, Italy – the city of the famous love story Romeo and Juliet – during lockdown. Reports say they noticed each other and looked each other up on social media. They’ve been messaging ever since and are now planning their first date in person.

3. Amazon and Vogue have joined forces to help designers impacted by Covid-19
The creative industry in particular has been struck hard by the virus. But in better news from Refinery29, Amazon Fashion recently announced the launch of its partnership with Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America as part of a team effort to help struggling design businesses. The collaboration is called Common Threads: Vogue x Amazon Fashion and includes a digital storefront heroing lesser-known designers.
4. Flamingos are free to roam in Mumbai
With less humans out and about, over 100,000 have decided to descend on Mumbai amid India’s strict Covid-19 lockdown. The pictures of the birds lighting up the lakes of Mumbai and enjoying the ideal conditions for foraging are absolutely stunning. There are apparently 25% more flamingos in the area than usual, according to Hindustan Times.

5. The pandemic is good news for the pangolin (the most-trafficked animal)
Covid-19 is undoubtedly a human disaster, but for pangolins there is a tiny silver lining. As one of the most heavily trafficked and endangered animals in the world, their inconclusive link to the initial outbreak has prompted the Chinese government to take action against the wildlife trade, according to The Guardian. It’s a turning point for pangolin conservation!
