3. Road-tripping through California

Threading along the coast from San Diego to San Francisco is seen as one of the best road trips in the world, and it’s easy to understand why. You get the unique beauty of the California coastline, with the white, sandy beaches of Santa Barbara and sparkling ocean in Big Sur, while also having the opportunity to head further inland to check out sites like Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, and the national monument of Berryessa Snow Mountain. Add in a pit-stop in Los Angeles, and you have a real classic American vacation.

This is most obvious in its incredible French Quarter, which is undoubtedly one of the best places for young adults to visit if they want to cut loose. Thankfully, the local dishes are both delicious and reviving after a night of fun, and you can spend the day checking out cultural highlights, so it’s the best of all worlds.
