Europe Vegan Foodie Trip

Berlin – the city of classical architecture, edgy nightlife and amazing street art. If you’re looking for vegan fare, you’re in the right place too. We asked The Little London Vegan (AKA the co-host of Contiki’s new Vegan Food Europe Explorer trip) for her top vegan-friendly restaurants in Berlin and boy are we now seriously hungry… Need help finding them? Check out her GoogleMap list of the best spots.

1. Vöner

Vöner is an informal dining cafe, serving up vegan versions of traditionally meat-focused, hearty dishes such as doner kebabs and hot dogs. The venue is quirky, the staff are friendly and it’s the kind of spot that’s perfect for hungry vegans looking for comfort food.

What to order: Currywurst Mit Pommes

Address: Boxhagener Str. 56, 10245 Berlin, Germany

2. 1990 Vegan Living

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Berlin hands down! The restaurant and the menu are equally big and you can get your mitts on a variety of Vietnamese dishes, vegan-style. It’s a fab spot for a group of friends. I recommend ordering as much as possible and trying a bit of each!

What to order: EVERYTHING

Address: Krossener Str. 19, 10245 Berlin, Germany

3. Ataya Cafe

This is such a great little cafe. It’s got a real homely, familiar feel to it and almost feels like you’ve been invited into someone’s living room for tea. The food has Sengalese and Sardinian influences and focuses on fresh, natural food. What’s even better is that this spot is also zero-waste and 100% vegan.

What to order: The Afro-Italian brunch

Address: Zelterstraße 6, 10439 Berlin, Germany

4. Brammibals

I mean, it’s a shop full of vegan doughnuts. What more could you want? The branch we visited was super light, airy and full of people. Sit by the window and watch the world go by while you munch on doughy goodness.

What to order: Boston Cream

Address: Maybachufer 8, 12047, Berlin

5. Lucky Leek

Want to treat yo’self to a fancy dinner? This is the spot for you. Dimly lit for ambience, this is a formal, romantic spot offering some unique, creative dishes, which are all vegan.

What to order: The five-course chef’s menu with wine degustation

Address: Kollwitzstraße 54, 10405 Berlin, Germany

6. Kopps

This vegan restaurant is bound to give you some decor envy. We visited during the day when it felt semi-casual and was absolutely packed with people! It’s got a trendy, contemporary feel to it and the chefs focus on local, fresh food.

What to order: The ‘All You Can Eat’ brunch buffet

Address: Linienstraße 94, 10115 Berlin, Germany

7. Soy

This is a really cute restaurant with some trendy decor and delicious food. The service was quick but friendly and the vibe is relaxed. Really, the winner is the food – it’s so tasty with noodle soups, hotpots and doughy dumplings.

What to order: Ha Cao steamed dumplings

Address: Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 30, 10178 Berlin, Germany
