5 of the best vegan restaurants in Vienna

Vegan restaurant in Vienna

Vienna… a classical city with a modern twist. You’ll find some incredible #views and a cool vegan scene. Here to spill the tea is Laura Fruit Fairy (AKA the co-host of Contiki’s new Vegan Food Europe Explorer trip), dishing out her top picks when it comes to the best vegan restaurants in Budapest.

1. Yamm!

A 100% vegetarian buffet that has some amazing vegan options and mouth-watering desserts! I tried a little of everything from the wild rice and egg plant to the purple carrot and beet couscous. This colourful palette will be sure to bring out your arty side. INSIDER TIP: The raw pineapple coconut cake is a culinary piece of art that tastes like summer – if summer had a taste obv.

What to order: Raw pineapple coconut cake
Address: Universitätsring 10, 1010 Wien, Austria

2. WikiWiki Poke

This is cute little spot that we visited after a day of exploring. The best way to describe this restaurant is a rainbow of goodness! You can tailor your bowl to whatever you prefer, from tofu to seaweed and fried onions to kimchi. Get your creativity juices flowing with this hidden gem.

What to order: Everything!
Address: Wipplingerstraße 21, 1010 Wien, Austria

3. Veganista

This vegan ice cream parlour is heaven on earth – it’s definitely one of the best vegan restaurants in Vienna! Founded by two vegan sisters, the stores are spread across Vienna and the flavours are out of this world.

What to order: Lavender and blueberry, matcha, cherry, maple pecan and peanut butter (but maybe not all at once!)
Address: Neustiftgasse 23, 1070 Wien, Austria

4. Superfood Deli

My followers recommended this amazing deli. It’s in a great location and a healthy way to start your day of adventure – ideal for breakfast or lunch! PLUS: The messaging is also key as they promote using clean, sustainable and plant-based ingredients, hence why the packaging is also plastic-free.

Address: Mariahilfer Straße, Raimundhof 45/17-19, 1060 Wien, Austria

5. Swing Kitchen

Again, another recommendation from my followers. This chain restaurant has a lot of great reviews and is known for being one of the best vegan restaurants in Vienna! The vegan alternative to burgers – it has everything from soya patties to vegan cheese and mayo.

Address: Schwedenpl. 3-4/4-5, 1010 Wien, Austria (multiple others dotted around Vienna)
