Overnight bag

An overnight bag is simply a small backpack-sized bad that you bring yourself and you pack with clothes, toiletries and anything you think you may need for the next day. This can often make your travel experience easier as it is more practical than carrying a large bag or suitcase up small hotel stairs where there is no elevator, onto a ferry or onto a cable car up a mountain.
Overnight bags are a good idea on some one night stops or for other overnight stops on tour where it is more practical to have a small bag rather than a large piece of luggage.
Examples of where you may use an overnight bag are when you are sailing the Whitsundays or sometimes for one night stops on tour.
We suggest using your carry on bag (or day bag) as your overnight bag. Many people often pick up an overnight bag once they begin their tour.
You large suitcase or backpack will be stored securely by your Contiki road crew for the duration of the overnight stay.

A very helpful Contiki crew member cleared up my concerns about luggage. I hope it helps you too. She said: “With the luggage you are allowed one suitcase which goes as luggage under the coach and is unloaded at the different places you go, you are allowed one carry on piece of luggage that will go on the coach (like a country road bag or small backpack) and finally you can have your normal hand bag.”

An intriguing discussion is worth comment. I do think that you need to write more about this issue, it might not be a taboo subject but generally folks don’t speak about these issues. To the next! Best wishes!!

Long bags are a unspoiled melody on few one dark stops or for remaining long stops on journeying where it is many functional to change a miniature bag rather than a extended patch of case.

I’m guessing this means that our main suitcase will stay in the bus?

The night bag is really just a small bag that you can pack all the stuff you will need for an overnight stay.
You could just take an extra back pack or empty sports bag in your luggage and while on tour you will be told when/if you will need to back for an overnight stay. It is because not all the hotels you can take your full suitcase to.
We just used our backpack as the overnight bag, you don’t have to take an additional prepacked bag. If that makes sense?
