All other rollercoaster’s bow down, it’s time to meet your maker. Not for the fair hearted, a theme park in Ontario named Canada’s Wonderland is set to open what is arguably the world’s most hair-raising roller coaster of all time. It will hold records as the longest, tallest AND fastest dive rollercoaster in the world. We’ll just let that sink in for a moment.
Still with us? Great. Taking over a year to construct, the Yukon Striker is a steel giant and holds three world records as the fastest dive coaster, reaching speeds up to 130 km/h (80 mph), the tallest dive coaster at 75 metres (245 feet) – including two underground drops – and it’s also the world’s longest dive coaster at 1,105 metres (3,625 feet). This thing isn’t playing around. Coming in at a huge total ride time of 3 minutes and 28 seconds, the Yukon Striker packs a punch since the average rollercoaster journey lasts just a measly 112 seconds.
The park already has 17 rollercoasters on their roster of over 200 attractions, but this one is sure to top them all. Thrill seekers can get their fix later this year when the rollercoaster opens as part of the park’s new gold rush themed Frontier Land, so if anyone’s looking for us, you’ll know where we’ll be.
