In November 2015 Contiki took 9 Storytellers to the East Coast of Australia to learn first-hand about the dangers of plastic pollution in our oceans. The Storytellers, comprised of surfers, photographers and musicians who each have their own personal connection to the ocean, weaved together a story of conservation and adventure, ultimately learning why it’s so important to tread lightly when travelling and to realise how our actions can directly impact the ocean.
Surfrider Foundation are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting Australia’s oceans, waves and beaches. A collection of surfers, ocean lovers and passionate community members, Surfrider now have 13 volunteer branches throughout Australia and many more volunteer beach representatives, each one tackling local and national coastal environmental issues at a sea-roots level.
Contiki has an insatiable appetite for discovering new and exciting things in every nook and cranny of the world. Together with TreadRight, our older sister on all things sustainability, we’re on a journey, forever listening, learning and evolving, seeking to become a more responsible and sustainable company.
