Remember the days of Myspace? And how could you forget Myspace Tom, the guy who was literally everyone's friend? Those days may be long gone, but Myspace Tom lives on...
In 2003, the (social media) world changed our lives forever. Myspace was created.
Tom Anderson, a.k.a Myspace Tom built an empire, and in so doing paved the way for social media as we know it today. Back in 2000 Tom was a product tester and copywriter at XDrive, a digital storage company. However, after XDrive took a dive and went bankrupt he decided to set up Myspace, as a counteract to Friendster. Eventually, it was sold for a whopping $580 million.
So what do you do when you suddenly become a millionaire? Travel of course… Myspace Tom is now 44 years old and officially “retired and travelling the world” documenting his journey through a series of jaw-dropping photos. His travels have taken him everywhere from Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Iceland and of course his own backyard, America.
And to think that this journey was inspired by The Burning Man festival…
Now, he goes on mind-blowing adventures across the globe.
He’s also travelled extensively across Asia, unafraid to go where many have not been.
Alms giving in Luang Prabang, Laos. I've been in northern Laos for 4 days now. It's my first time visiting this country and its been nice to observe life at a different pace; I have yet to see a single Western chain store of any kind, though I'm guessing there are some in the Capitol city Vientianne. Headed there in a few days 🙂 Internet has been hard to come by – hope to post more soon 🙂
Seriously, his pictures are unreal.
Never change Myspace Tom!
