Machu Picchu (Peru)
It’s has been over 100 years since Machu Picchu’s rediscovery – a sacred Incan site located in Andean mountain regions of Peru and considered to be one of the most beautiful and enigmatic sites in the world. The ruins, a mass of hundreds of stone structures, are shrouded by clouds and visitors can hike the Inca trail to discover the wonders that Machu Picchu offers, which include temples, fields, terraces, and baths amidst a hillside lush Urubamba Valley thousands of feet below.

Shanghai Skyline at Jin Mao Tower (Shanghai, China)
The second tallest building in China houses a viewing station on the 88th floor and the Grand Hyatt Shanghai hotel (2nd highest hotel in the world) between floors 53 to 87. See panoramic views of the Shanghai skyline while on Contiki’s China tour, including the futuristic Pearl tower (pictured right). Don’t forget to send a postcard from the “tallest post office in the world”.

Antoni Gaudi's Sagrada Familia (Barcelona, Spain)
In Barcelona, Spanish architecture is synonymous with one name: Antoni Gaudi. His unique and distinctive use of Gothic architecture can be seen at the Temple expiatori de la Sagrada Familia, one of the most visited sites in all of Barcelona. He used a combination of original design, interesting shaped stonework, and vibrant colors to really give visitors an extraordinary visual experience – which can also be seen at sights all over Barcelona.

King's Canyon (Northern Territory, Australia)
One of the most spectacular sights in central Australia is King’s Canyon, located in the Watarraka National Park. After a moderate hike to the top, you’ll experience that “I did it!” feeling as you look below at the sandstone domes and view the gorge below. There’s plenty of outdoor activities to take advantage of and a great way to see some of Australia’s breathtaking countryside.

Mekong River Delta (South Vietnam)
See the floating markets & fish farms that are still in use on the Mekong River Delta in Vietnam – a glimpse at life in the waterways as fishermen and vendors sell their wares on their local boats or ‘sampans’. It’s an up close and personal way to see the local way of life, and offers amazing views of the delta that extends through Laos and Cambodia as well.
